NFL 2008 Season Is Coming...
Still about 3 months away, but I'm excited as hell!
I've noticed there are a few NFL fans on the board, so I figured I'd start a thread for those who want to:
1. Talk about their team
2. Talk smack about someone else's team
3. Make bold predictions about their team
4. Talk about general NFL related stuff
5. Post cool videos and pictures
I also want to keep a running list of what member is a fan of what team. So far I've got:
The Wicked Priest - Buffalo Bills (whoot-whoot!)
CrimePunisher - NY Giants
Cart - San Francisco 49ers
Medicvet - San Francisco 49ers
Jena - Philadelphia Eagles
Harry - Kansas City Chiefs
Freddy - New England Patriots*
Jake - New England Patriots* (FORMER Bills fan)
Maximum Pain - Minnesota Vikings
SuperDig - Indianapolis Colts
nightowl - Atlanta Falcons
Anyone else?Last edited by The Wicked Priest; Aug 17th, 2008 at 10:13 AM.

For all you armchair quarterbacks there is a game called QB1 from a company called NTN. You can visit their website, www.ntn.com, and find out all about the game and also find a local place to play. I believe there is also a way to play online. The game information is at http://players.buzztime.com/game_library/qb1.php and I dont think you have to register to find out about the games.
QB1 is pretty cool. You play while watching an actual college or NFL game. You have to predict the play the quarterback is going to call as accurately as possible. The more accurately you call it the more points you get. You play for both teams so there is no down-time. The neat thing is that you are playing against thousands of people all over north america live with real-time feed back. (I have never played the game in the online version but I would imagine its pretty much the same except for the variation in connection speeds.)
Its alot of fun, especially if you get a few people playing. And its free....Quote from DBA: "My IQ is higher than 99% of the population..." Just when you think he cant get any more phucking deluded...

Yep. That's my pick... for now..."I was put on trial twice near Y2K for acting like Jesus and claiming to be the Messiah. Damn Serge, I did NOT need that link. All I need is for the hubby to be sitting around BSing on line, (not that I do
) talking football.
But THANK YOU WP for brining this thread to the forum. We too are excited for the season to start, and yes we watched the draft...
AND... Yes, you are correct about my (looser *cough*) team....
Kansas City Chiefs!
When I was 8 years old they went to the superbowl. If I am 48,58,68,78,88 or 98 or 108. I will have front row tickets when they return again.....
My Chili cookoff team is called the "Tailgaters" so it is all about football for me.
It all started for me when I was Head Cheerleader in High School. The football coach pulled me aside and told me we (being our school) had a "good" team this year, and he didn't need a bunch of Cheerleaders screwing things up for his team.
Meaning that he wanted us to learn the calls. I said better yet, teach us the sport. So we suited up, I don't mean powder puff either, full head gear, shoulder pad, maybe not jock strap but you get my drift.
We scrimaged, we worked hard and we learned. My high school team went to state that year, we lost, but we went.
Now, I can talk the best with the guys at bar, and I can call the plays that they can call. It is all on how you learn the sport.
And then to top it off, I was just about ready to call it off with the hubby, I went to his house to pick him up (because I didn't trust him) and walked in and saw, yup a KC Chief's flag, so now we have been happily married for 10 years.
Oh and, my Aunt (83 years old) is in WI and a die hard Packers fan, loves him too. The only teams I can't stand are the Raiders and the Broncos imagine that!
But GO CHIEF'S! Arrowhead is the BEST stadium!

WP & CT:
Couldn't you bump the Chiefs up just because of me?
I can go to some games and yell my but off.
Just bump KC up above the Broncos?
We got some good draft picks, and you never know with the noise level in Arrowhead!
Please!!!!!!!

No one will ever question your FANdom... lol! Thanks for the stories!
I became a Bills fan in 1985 when the city of Buffalo had a parade to welcome Jim Kelly. I was 10 years old, and he was the first football player I had ever seen up close. At the time I remember him being the largest person I'd ever seen.
I've had season tickets off and on for 9 of the last 15 years. I was at the "Greatest Comeback" vs the Houston Oilers. We were down 35-3 to start the 3rd quarter, I was so cold I wanted to die. My feet and hands were literally hurting from the cold. Then, we scored 28 unanswered points... when the game went into overtime, I was sweating and shedding layers of clothing! That was the best game ever!
I was at the MNF game vs the Cowboys last year, and I was so depressed the next day, I didn't even go to work.
I think this year, the Bills will make the playoffs, and beat the Patriots* at least once during the season. As for the Superbowl... I don't know yet..The real Wicked Priest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lvU-DislkI

Yeah, that sucks, but Brodie Croyle wasn't that bad, just young....
Huard, was ok, just a pussy... OK you're right damn..
Come to think about it we have a draft QB, don't we, so more young guys... but.... Maybe one will stand out like the Mannings?
Still a hellva good game and a good time.
Let me know if you wanna make it to KC, I can get tickets!
That offer is open to any NFL fan! You are on your own getting to Arrowhead, but I can get tickets, of course you'll have to pay for them too, but I can hook you up!

I do like Herm Edwards... and you still have Larry Johnson. That's something to look forward to... right?
I know all about not having a QB, but I think Trent Edwards is going to be the real deal this time.
I would absolutely love to visit the "loudest place on Earth"... too bad it's so close to Thanksgiving. I won't be able to this year

No worries, I have a digitial camera, I can send you photos like you were there.
That stadium is amazing. I have been to Green Bay's which is also nice, but Arrowhead makes that stadium seem like a high schools.
The Royal's stadium is right next to Arrowheads. The best things I have seen at Arrowhead is 1) a fly over, 2) fireworks 3) parachuters landing on the field.
Oh and the 1st game after 9/11, everyone had little American Flags, and they were all waving...

I got Minnesota winning the division... so long as they get a halfway decent QB situation. In fact, if their QBs come a long, they MAY, and this is my long shot call, they MAY represent the NFC in the big game...
Course it hinges on the QB situation..."I was put on trial twice near Y2K for acting like Jesus and claiming to be the Messiah. Its not everyday that a man parks a Chariot of Fire in front of a tomb and stands against the US government with a bow and razor tipped arrows over his shoulder. I picked Minnesota once... They haven't done bad in the past, plus I love the purple uniforms. Hubby puts them in the top 5.
As always, I do look at the huddle up.
Can judge a good team buy the huddle.

Jun 24th, 2008 3:18 PM #25I know of the Patriots one, the Cowboys vid, and this little number, which has nothing to do with Football but is still entertainingThey remixed one of those for the Patriots* after they lost the superbowl... it was funny, but not as funny as the Dallas one. Do you know of any others?
+ YouTube Video
There was one featuring Hitler pissed off about being an internet meme but I can't seem to find that one.
