Companies come and go- but this is not like Woolworth's closing. Big players are going under and huge amount of moneys are being switched around.

Lehman went down today and F&F last week.
Yes folks it's here and all your goverments will do is turn up the printing press and devalue your debt and your money.
Gold/Silver does not seem to be the answer as it's gone up 4 fold in the past 5 years and if you want physic silver then it's about twice the spot price.Ariel Sharon: "We control America"

AIG (insurance and other things) is not doing well either. my take after reading some of these articles and the idea of short selling is...
Oil is under 100 dollars. I find it hard to believe that gas prices go up 1 day after a storm and gas runs out- it was more reaction than reality. Wall street players play as a team against everyone else. The condition was the fabrication- reality is what things are actually worth.
Predictions- Airlines (with old equipment that no one would buy - even if there were those around that could) will have a Bank-like collapse.
"turn up the printing press and devalue your debt and your money."
this and when oil goes up the market will go down further.

I hate to bring up Ron Paul at every opportunity, well actually I take that back. I like to remind people who they laughed at, ignored and made out to be crazy. Way back in the fall of last year - Ron Paul clearly stated at a republican debate that we are were already in a recession and heading for a depression. All of the other joker candidates rolled their eyes, snickered, made rude comments and spouted their bullshit about having faith in our economy. Unfortunately Americans went with the best looking, or the most articulate, or the war hero or the "I was there on 911" idiots instead of listening to the most intelligent candidate between both parties. No matter what your opinion of Ron Paul's "presidential capabilities" - the man was dead on on all accounts. We truly lost our last opportunity to save our country.

There have been a lot of prophecies pridicting this
This is found at
http://www.telusplanet.net/public/tsgibson/book2.html
Note the date this prophecy was given
2001 01 04.
Thus says the Lord. Hear and understand the word of God. For the times and the seasons ahead are close to the economic crash. You see much turmoil in stock markets and in economic forecasts. This is not the crash, but it is the fore-goings before the crash.
You shall see much of this. Do not let it alarm you. Know that the time is at hand and soon shall be that the economic crash will come.
But seek Me and My ways, and seek My Word. Spend time in My Word. Spend time in prayer and know that I am calling you, My people, to be a witness on this earth of the coming times, of the coming seasons, so that they will know that there is a God in heaven and this God controls all. He knows what will come. He has it under control. Disaster on the world is disaster for the world; but for the christian who serves Me, saith the Lord, I lead them through, every one of them, and without exception.
Those that serve Me will go through the fire, theyÕll go through the valley, theyÕll go through whatever comes by the power of the living God. Those of the world are in trouble!
So let it be known that God has shown you, through the prophets, that there is a great anointed time coming to prepare you for what you are to walk through, and to lead you through it.
Thus says the Lord, no more shall the world say, Òthere are some religious fanatics, but who can trust them?Ó They shall rise up in great furore against you. They will not like your God.
They will not like you following Him. And they will not like you witnessing.
They shall rise up like never before and violence shall occur.
Yes, My people, I am with you, even unto the ends of this earth. Take note of the book of Acts. Take note of the book of Acts. For in there great revivals occurred, but also great persecution! The two must go together.
Stand and beware, this is the time of great revival, of true revival, and of true persecution.
For thus says the Lord, I will bring you out the other side unto a kingdom of heaven with great gloryÐÐstreets so glorious you cannot imagineÐÐand I will give you a place where you shall rest. But now, you go through the fire, says the Lord.Blessings in the name of my Lord Jesus Christ who came in the flesh and now sits at the right hand of our God on high.
A confession of faith that the modern Evangelical movement can no longer make!

There you go lying about Obama again, lol (by including him with "all the other joker candiates" - as far as I am aware, actually, the ONLY candidate who has thought the economy is strong was McCain, but I could be wrong on them). Obama's been campaigning the entire time on the failure of the right wing politicians on the economy and about how they've led us into recession. The entire time he has accused Bush, McCain, and the rest of the Republicans of screwing our economy by giving billions of dollars to big oil in tax breaks, etc. The entire time. (was that one a lie or just you misinformed this time? seriously)
Here's Obama five months ago saying the recession started 7 years ago
+ YouTube Video
Here he is 8 months ago talking about how our economy is crap for the average american
+ YouTube Video
You CAN'T deny that you're factual wrong about that one. Obama's been screaming economy woes since he began all this. So, are you lying or were you just misinformed?
I know it was only by implication, but you STILL lumped him in with the others on a position that he has NEVER taken (that would be an incorrect statement at best, a falsehood if intentional)
About Paul-
Sure, Paul isn't horrible on some issues, but he won't win anyway, and his immigration policy is way too extreme (shipping people born her to mexico because their parents are illegal- they were born here = citizens)."I was put on trial twice near Y2K for acting like Jesus and claiming to be the Messiah. Oh for Christ sake. Did you miss the part where I said at the Republican Debate?? Here let me replay it for you:
"Way back in the fall of last year - Ron Paul clearly stated at a republican debate that we are were already in a recession and heading for a depression. All of the other joker candidates rolled their eyes, snickered, made rude comments and spouted their bullshit about having faith in our economy
Was Obama at the Republican debate and I just failed to notice him on the stage? WTF???? You're like a dog with a bone.

Sorry Jena. I'm wrong on that one. If you must know, my excuse is that I have strep throat and a fever and am not reading straight. But that doesn't matter. I read your post wrong (and did the same with part of Davey's earlier).
I need to sleep.
*edit - how much is Obama paying you?Three times as much as McCain will in tax refunds (about $1200). And of course, a bunch more by removing the billions of dollars of tax breaks to Exxon-Mobile and redistributing them to my check book.

2- McCain is going to do the opposite, but it is fact that tax breaks to producers producing inelastic goods benifits the producers and no one else. This is partly why so many econ experts criticized Clinton and McCain for the tax holiday idea.
So, I am gaining $1200 in a tax refund (on average, vs $300 from McCain), and I'm gaining from a potential tax redistribution for oil expenses.
3- When the game is no longer a free market (like that current situation with oil) because a realtive few have gained so much economic power, it isn't socialim to redistribute some of windfall profits. I believe that it is time to consider depression. Britain has reached similar crisis in which the government has next to no money and is now facing a 'civil war' over its leadership, troubling times indeed.
It is, however, no secret that the dollar has been fairly weak for a great long period now and, while this has had certain merits for your economy, has had the eventual fallback of delivering the death knell for your economy since nearly every currency is much stronger making everything much more expensive for the U.S. in general. This wont be the first time that the U.S. has had to consider financial help, you have a 2 Trillion dollar debt with China, for example.
But your political situation also puts your economy on the teetering edge of total extinction. While McCaine creeps into the lead (I think?) and will most likely put Sarah Palin up to do most of his legwork she will come into office entirely unprepared for this. The U.S. needs to consider some very grave actions to save itself now, gone is the luxury of considering whether you can lay more pipelines and build more nuclear power stations.
It will be interesting to see how the this changes the political landscape over the next few weeks.
One thing is certain, is that the U.S must be extremely careful in the information it wishes to give away from now on, for once vultures such as China, Japan and Russia smell death, they will begin to circle. The sands of time, for you, are running low.

The dollar has actually stayed fairly solid. If you steal a bunch of money you don't want worthless money. Why aren't people buying up foreign currency?
The answer- if the dollar goes the rest of the world's currency goes.
Another answer- if inflation stays low like in 1929- then the rich will have huge buying power.

Yup. Interesting enough there is 7 times the amount of gold in the world today than there is silver, in fact 95% of all the gold mined throughout mans history is still held today in private and national banks.
Silver is way undervalued, both in bullion form and its use in industry. The down side is that it does tarnish, and can eventually break down. Thus the difference of value, as gold can't rust nor tarnish nor break down in its make up. A virtually indestructible element.
The world sees gold as the only true form of money, and they know their own currencies are only as good as the reserves held, everything else is inflation being shoved forward into a new fiscal year with a less and less exchange worth of paper money.

Silver is used in many industrial processes.
It is used to line evaporator body s in the production of caustic,(NaOH).
Nickel is also used but, silver is better.
That's just one small example, it is used to line many reactor vessels, that contain severe corrosives.
The Chinese are buying lots of silver for their growing chemical industries.
SR said, silver is under valued at present. It is, very much so.
Don't look for that to continue. Prices will rise.

Many conservatives over the past 2 years have suggested people buy commodities like silver and gold. Who would profit from such? The people that sold it. The more people panic- the more people that buy it- the less it it worth.

Quite the opposite. Its a limited resource, the more people buy, the higher the price goes. I follow Kitco's New York spot market several times a day, as well as the Geneva spot using the Euro as base. Both these references show any fluctuation with the buying and selling world wide. And buying raises the price.
All the sales are tax free, and its the only commodity that is tax free with capital gain.

Large financial institutions are dropping like flies. I never thought I would ever see anything like it. I think we are certainly in the beginning stages of a Depression. Unfortunately I think it will be much worse then the Great Depression we all read about in our History books. Not only do we have more people to care for, but we are also a much bigger target then we were in the thirties. How will we protect America while in the middle of a complete economic collapse?
