Going it alone!
Sometime ago some of us discussed whether Israel would wither go it alone or would wait for America.
It now seems that Israel when ready which wont be long may yet go into a conflict with Iran!
Of course America's image right now does not seem to bright and of course a new president in the waiting.
No one knows yet what his views are on these issues of course they will say and promise anything when they want our votes.
So lets see if there is anymore dithering whilst Iran progresses foward with nuclear technology.
Israel on the other hand may not wait as Iran once quoted of wiping them off the map.
If America of course holds back too long then its possible Israel wont hesitate but at the same time dragging America eventually into the conflict one way or another.
America could be blamed either way i suppose and could be accused of helping them with some fire power, which in fact they did in Israels conflict the last time.

My guess is that Israel strikes at Iran the only way they can... with US allowing it to happen. Bush lets Israel do what the US public won't support. Then, when Israel does this and does damage, Iran will retaliate and launch missles, which will fly over US controlled Iraqui airspace and bring the US into direct conflict with Iran. I think this will take place at some time in the next week or two. It needs to happen before mid January, and I think any attack on Iran is about 15 months overdue.

Well, let's just hope our Israeli leaders aren't stupid. Persumably they could learn from Bush's mistakes...

This is more involved, To engage in the war against Sadam the US had to make a few agreements with the other Arab nations in the general area.
Among those agreements was the establishment of a Palestinian state and the removal of most of Israel. The only problem is that Israel was not consulted and they don't agree to cooperate .
There is no compromise possible and the US is being expected to live up to their end of the bargain which they are trying to back out of. The new president is being handed a platter that he can't fix.
Israel has made it clear that there will never be another Masada, They have the means to pull another Samson stunt and they intend to do it rather than hand their country over.
The ground work for a nuclear war in the middle east has been laid and it is now basically inevitable. By its past agreements the US is compelled to side with the Arabs unless it declares that it intends to rescind on its commitments and pledges that it made to occupy Iraq, in which case its latter end will be worse than its first.Blessings in the name of my Lord Jesus Christ who came in the flesh and now sits at the right hand of our God on high.
A confession of faith that the modern Evangelical movement can no longer make!

Foreign Secretary David Miliband will urge Gulf Arab states on Monday to step up pressure on Iran over its nuclear program by imposing financial restrictions and tightening export controls.
I do wonder if Israel were to turn to the uk for some assistance instead of waiting for America to make up its mind?
That would be a first but i guess as they may look at other western countries to see if anyone would back up their point on Iran?

Well it seems that Iran maybe expecting action sooner or later!
An Iranian militia held civil defence drills on Sunday to prepare for any hostile air strikes and the military said it could close a waterway crucial for world oil supplies if Iran was attacked.
This is the kind of defense that could whilst now in the recession and energy shortages, start a new conflict which would give Israel the exscuse.

They will not go it alone, the would be anihalated if they did. There will be another false flag event soon, perhaps against American forces in the gulf i.e. Iraq or even the US Navy that will bring USA into the fore and persuades/ gives them the excuse to attack Iran.
How soon is anyone's guess, but rumours I have heard include as early as this week i.e. between 25th-27th due to no moon at night in Gulf all the way out to after Obama gets in.

Isn't this a politically bad time for Israel?
Olmert, amid much scandal and corruption charges, resigned as leader of the Kadima party. His successor, Livni, failed to establish a coalition government and so Israeli elections will held 18 months ahead of schedule, this February.
I doubt Israel would initiate any attack, particularly unilaterally, against Iran before February given the present political circumstances.
But, that being said, I think we should all be very wary come February.
Some current Israeli polls are suggesting that the hardline opposition party, Likud is gaining political traction. This party is headed up by hardliner Benjamin Netanyahu and if the Likud party successfully secures power in February, then I suspect that not only would any hopes for an Israeli /Palestinian peace deal be crushed, but it significantly increases the risk of an Israeli attack (unilateral or otherwise) against Iran.

RUSSIAN Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has urged US President-elect Barack Obama to drop the planned US missile shield in Eastern Europe, warning of an "adequate response" from Moscow.
Whatever the outcome its for sure that tempers will begin to frey eventually.

Peace on earth indeed...as we reach closer to 'the holidays' , we also are edging ever so closer to the precipice of the abyss.
Well, guess it's time for a jolly Christmas tune..

I think they'll try something in the tumult of the switchover, when nobody is really prepared to deal with surprises.

Hey Israel do you want some action?
The United States and the European Union said on Friday they were disturbed by apparent Syrian efforts to "sanitize" sites U.N. inspectors want to examine in a probe into alleged covert nuclear activity.
Thats one damn sure exscuse if you ask me!
