Is this a new cold war?
The recent war with iraq has spread a lot of ill will toward various countries (including alas, my own). Is this the start of the next cold war? What do you lot reckon?

Cold War? Well during the Cold War it was Russia vs the U.S. in the race to be the king of the mountain, and we won. If you mean the race to bare weapons and power as good as 'us' and your country to put a stop to both, maybe...

Not a race exactly, like the cold war between the ussr as it was then, and america. Just a divide between the two powerblocks.
I intend to live forever. So far, so good.

Mary,
They aren't the same. I'm not clear as to what they are teaching you in school, but the cold war and the war on terrorism are nowhere near similar.
This, today, is about freedom that is endangered in the modern, progressive world.
The cold war was more about subterfuge and bullshit than it was about blowing up entire buldings, trains, planes, and buses full of human beings over who's god is more powerful and indignant.
Ppl of course were murdered during the cold war, but not anywhere near the level that the religious whacko's are intent on achieving. And they do intend on achieving as large a number as possible.
