It's through tears that I am typing this reply to you Calliope. I have had your precious puppy in my thoughts for days, each time I meditate, each time I have spare moments my thoughts and energy were sent her way! I am so excited to hear about her surgery and her recovery. Calliope, your family is long overdue for the grandest blessings.

Thats great news Calliope!

Thanks you guys!
Proffet, that is so wonderful that you have given so much loving attention to my sweet puppy.
She's so much happier now....bounding around, and so pleased, just feeling better, and being with us.
Thanks, for any advice, dear lady.

I am so happy to hear this, truly I am. I'm still thinking of you both and sending positivity and healing energy your way. I have a feeling though she will have a new lease on life, and you too, with this great weight lifted.
While the wound is healing you may notice some blood, mostly from the incision area seeping through and around the sutures. There are several layers of tissue healing and as they do they scab up, sometimes though (esp with an active pup) the scabs break loose or tear a little bit, reopening tiny injuries causing some bleeding. Also, since you have experience in this area, can you help with a question? Just as I was typing this, we noticed that the site of one of her stitches was bleeding a little. She was laying on the floor, on her injury side, so she might have irritated them a little. Should I be alarmed with the bleeding? Is there anything I should do about it? I mean, of course, if it worsens, I'll take her back to the vet, but for now...I was thinking of putting coconut oil on the stitches, as that is ant-bacterial, and will perhaps soften and condition them, but I'm afraid to apply anything there, as I wouldn't want to cause any damage...
Thanks, for any advice, dear lady.
It's important to keep the pup as sedate as possible in the first few weeks after the surgery. The leg will heal much faster and cause her less irritation. Coconut oil is great for the incision, as is Vit E.
Of course you know, if anything seems out of place, if she is bleeding more than a small amount, if the wound is hot or swollen or has any sort of discharge that isn't clear, she should go back to the Vet to have it checked just to be certain there is no infection and that everything is healing properly.
Many blessings to you Calliope and to your puppy too."When you gaze long into the Abyss, the Abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche
