Rothschild's vs Napoleon?
I've been reading up on Napoleon lately and I'm confused because from what I've read he was very helpful to the jews of the time. He even wanted to give them Palestine. So why would the Rothschild's financially back the English against Napoleon?

all Jews do not have the same desires or ....agendas
For example some high-ranking zionists did not mind much the Shoah.
As for the Rotschild , i can see these explanations , there may be some more :
1/ they thought it was too early
2/ Napoleon would fail or suspect that Napoleon does not keep his promises
3/ the financial aspect was more important than any other.

Napoleon and the french revolution was a direct threat to the monarchy's of Europe. Remember that many members of the royal family's of the European nations at that time were relatives. So when the revolutionary's cut of the heads of the royals they were killing the cousins ect of the other family's. It only follows that a rich established family like the Rothschilds would want to crush the revolution. Imagine how scared the royals of other countries were at the time when they saw the fruits of years of oppression come to fruition at the edge of a guillotine blade?

Meh, The French revolution is overrated.
And it only took a couple of decades before it was back to the old business again.
And for the countries they occupied in the name of spreading democracy they were in the last years just another fascist oppressor pillaging the lands that just happened to have some good ideas in between.

Didn't the French liberate Holland from the Spanish or was that earlier? What was Hollands status during the Napoleonic period didn't they end up allied to England?

It were the English and Germans that liberated us from the Spanish earlier.
The Netherlands were occupied by the French forces in 1795 to promote democracy.
Which however slowly turned into nothing more than fascist oppression.
So when Napoleon got defeated near Leipzig in 1813. The dutch immediately took the chance to separate from the country again.
In the Wener congress, it was decided that it was in the best interest of Europe that there was a strong country on the northern border of France ( Belgium was still part of the Netherlands back then.) Which meant that we fought on the British side when Napoleon returned a couple of years later.

Hitler also supported the idea of the jews getting their own nation.
As it was too costly to do that, it was abandoned in favor of something much less expensive...
it's worth noting that many jews didn't like napoleon for wanting to send them to palestine. Because orthodox view is that a hebrew palestine shouldn't exist until the messiah came back...Poetry is superior to history -Aristotle

The Rothschild's are the bankers of all but the countries labelled as terrorists and war profiteers who have financed almost every war. They love it when you ask for money to kill your neighbor with because they charge interest and you end up protecting the bankers who I am going to destroy.

Come on, Judgment Day is everyday. Watch out for that whole tomorrow thing. That just stacks on the interest. Sandwiches, however, do not yet have interest applied so I'll get ya on Tuesday.

Why do you make such a big deal of this?
You don't need to know the family history to shop there.
I love shopping at Rothschild's. And I especially like the Godiva chocolates. really, it's about the only thing I can afford there and it's only on rare occassions.

It's just good to know what you are investing in.
Every consumer is an investor. Just a fact of business. Like people who buy products that support unfair wages, basically own a kind of "share" in that industry.
It's like if this were the 1800s and you had a choice to buy slightly more expensive cotton made fairly, or if you chose to buy the cheaper slave-made cotton.Poetry is superior to history -Aristotle
