Global Warming-the day after tomorrow...
What would happen if all the ice on Earth would melt? How much height of the sea and the oceans will increase?Would this mean another ice age(according what I've read)?
Can anyone explain me this how this process works?
Thanks!

It's really impossible to say. Ice is less dense than water, so if undersea ice (which includes most of the North Pole) melts then sea levels drop. Obviously if land ice melts then sea levels rise. Also, if ice is going to melt, then temperatures will be higher, which means water expands and sea levels rise. So, who knows?

Well if it was going to happen but it could be prevented with a little effort, wouldn't you want to?

Why? What harm could come of allowing things to run the course?
We're not gods...oh wait, no...wait...no, oh!. . .no. . .we're not.

With talk like that one would be led to presume you believe in fate?
Regardless if it's deserved or not, preserving life is programmed into us. Whether it be our own, family or friends, even if our efforts are futile one would seek any 'means' of continuing on.

yes it will cause an ice age.Actually the gulf stream recently has moved south by a little bit proofing that something has happened.
and you probably say a land based hurricane is impossible...wrong!
well I was shocked about what I have seen.Remember the day after tommorow and the massive land built hurricane??
look at this over Texas
well it started out as a supercell then something happened to it,here is the site anyway:
http://www.spc.noaa.gov/coolimg/nc_storm/
now think if it can happen in a small way, then could it be possible for a day after tommorow type superstorm??

Day After Tomorrow is fiction. They had to speed up the process so that the movie wouldnt be decades (or more) long.

No. . .
The movie is fiction because there is no evidence of any kind to support global warming or the alleged negative effects of the purported warming. That, and the brutal truth that those who are prone to believeing everything they hear and/or see are typical fickle mush heads with little to no common sense.
Is it my fault that the masses are total idiots? No.

Read what scientists say about this "fiction" on the websites(I gave the links),so it is highly possible that ice age could visit us...,just read those texts and the newest findings.

News of late unsettling. . .
. . .To say the least. . .
Britain faces big chill as ocean current slows
Jonathan Leake, Science Editor
May 08, 2005
CLIMATE change researchers have detected the first signs of a slowdown in the Gulf Stream — the mighty ocean current that keeps Britain and Europe from freezing.
They have found that one of the “engines” driving the Gulf Stream — the sinking of supercooled water in the Greenland Sea — has weakened to less than a quarter of its former strength.
The weakening, apparently caused by global warming, could herald big changes in the current over the next few years or decades. Paradoxically, it could lead to Britain and northwestern and Europe undergoing a sharp drop in temperatures.
Such a change has long been predicted by scientists but the new research is among the first to show clear experimental evidence of the phenomenon.
Peter Wadhams, professor of ocean physics at Cambridge University, hitched rides under the Arctic ice cap in Royal Navy submarines and used ships to take measurements across the Greenland Sea.
“Until recently we would find giant ‘chimneys’ in the sea where columns of cold, dense water were sinking from the surface to the seabed 3,000 metres below, but now they have almost disappeared,” he said.
“As the water sank it was replaced by warm water flowing in from the south, which kept the circulation going. If that mechanism is slowing, it will mean less heat reaching Europe.”
Such a change could have a severe impact on Britain, which lies on the same latitude as Siberia and ought to be much colder. The Gulf Stream transports 27,000 times more heat to British shores than all the nation’s power supplies could provide, warming Britain by 5-8C.
Wadhams and his colleagues believe, however, that just such changes could be well under way. They predict that the slowing of the Gulf Stream is likely to be accompanied by other effects, such as the complete summer melting of the Arctic ice cap by as early as 2020 and almost certainly by 2080. This would spell disaster for Arctic wildlife such as the polar bear, which could face extinction.

Environmentalism is the Newest Religion!! Beware any so called 'scientists' who proclaim dire predictions of climate change - THEY'RE WORKING THEIR OWN AGENDAS. Dr. David Suzuki is the first example that jumps to my mind. I used to really respect this guy, I watched his TV show and everything, then in the late '90's he started acting more like a Prophet than a Scientist.
I used to work with Greenpeace and saw that Memo's from the mid-70's from the upper's were telling members to basically 'create' environmental issues to gain media attention - fabricate disaster for the hype in other words.
The Arctic region has been melting and fucking up for as long as I remember. Back in the mid 80's we heard about the problems with the Gulf stream and all that SHIT. One of the prediction was, "By 2000 most of Europe will be covered in a three meter thick layer of ice," and complete bullshit like that but coming out of the offices of some of the world's most respected (at that time) scientists.
Most 'scientists' (especially when it comes to Environmentalism) have their heads further up their asses than the general public. REMEMBER that SomeOne is paying these scientists salaries, and I wonder how many of these guys suddenly buy new homes and cars soon after one of thier 'dire predictions.'
There is as much to be made from natural disasters as any other form. For every human problem there is an easy and simple answer. And it is always wrong. - H.L. Mencken
