This movie is not going to be remembered as a Great Movie but its a fun experience. It kind of reminded me of Conan, albeit a futuristic version. A no nonsense tough guy becomes King. Like I said, a fun flick but not great. If they make a sequel, I'll go see that one as well.

I thought it was better than Pitch Black. If you like tough guy Sci-Fi flicks then this is right up your alley. Like I said, Its a fun popcorn flick. A typical Vin Diesel movie. I dig Diesel so my opinion is probably biased.

Does it take place before or after pitch black?

I went to see it yesterday and it's pretty much like VR said. It's not bad, but it isn't great.
I wish those guys stuck around in the cell, I wanted to see how Vin would kill them with that pin.

woot, ya, the tea cup was awesome.

I went in thinking that it would never be as good as pitch black. I find that if you go into a movie with no expectations it seems good. And vice versa.

Another movie i thought would suck was shrek II, but that one blew my mind too.

I had the same experience with The League of Extrordinary Gentlemen. All my friends told me how awful it was so when I went to see it, I was expecting this God Awful movie but it was actually kind of fun to me. Go figure!
