Angels Working Overtime
That's the only way I can explain it. My son was taking a friend home on a dirt road and totaled out the car..his injuries were bad but thank God not life threatening. He's home now. Had a concussion, various lacerations, one hell of a black eye, broken nose, chipped fracture on his cheekbone, and dislocated shoulder. He looks a mess, but he is going to be okay, and I just need to keep an eye on him and periodically wake him up to check his pupils. He was flung from the car because of course the idiot wasn't wearing a seatbelt, and of course the car is totaled too. I'm just glad my son's not.

It's scary, Med. I am so happy your son is ok.
When I was a teen, I used to scare the tar out of my mom with these accidents. I had 2that were both my fault- and caused quite a bit of a ruckess.

Thank god he's ok Medicvet. I will be going totally gray in the next few months when all three of my sons get their licenses. One of them has no natural driving skills and admits that he is a bad driver which is an understatement. I see many sleepless nights ahead - more so than usual.
Your son is very lucky.

I got home and was too wound up to sleep...I thought! Then next thing I knew I had keypad marks on my face, lol. Went to bed after that. Ronny is awake and sore but doing okay. I have a few pain pills the hospital gave, but now I need to get ahold of mom when she answers the phone so we can figure out how to get to a pharmacy to get him the rest of his meds. She broke her arm and really banged up the side of her face falling down two steps last week. It's quite a time of it for this family right now. My sister flew in to help and left Tuesday..and then Ronny gets in the accident Wednesday. He'll bounce back quicker than Mom I have a feeling..he's younger and more resilient. Mom made the decision to sell the house and move back to California by this summer. My brother who lives in the trailer was mad for a while because he thought my Mom was being brainwashed by my sister, but I'm just surprised it took her this long to make the decision. I'm going to go lay back down, my head is pounding like crazy. Thanks for the support guys. (((hugs)))

Awww....When it rains, it definitely poors. I guess that's what keeps us on our toes, huh? I've had an eventful past 2 months, as well. I've already decided that it only gets better from here....and the kids better co-operate this time!!!

Well, things could have been so much worse. I went to the hospital last night had a friend drive me there and met Ronny there when the ambulance came there. My first sight of him was his feet sticking out from under the sheet, and for a second my heart was literally in my throat because I couldn't tell if they had his head covered with the sheet or not. They didn't, they had him in one of those neck brace things which I couldn't see at first. After around seven or eight hours at the hospital, they said he could go home because he really didn't want to stay not even for observation, and since I knew what signs to look for, they let him go home. He got pissed because I would periodically wake him up to check his pupils but oh well. His arm will be in a sling for a few days..he just got done talking to Mom on the phone...she had been driven down to the indian hospital in Talihina about her arm doing a follow up, but a friend of Ronny's just came by so I was able to go get his painkillers. I already called the insurance company and they started a claim on it..I just hope after all is said and done that they don't decide to cancel my insurance because of all the stuff on it. In a year and a half, FOUR accidents. First, my son's friend was driving my jeep when he lost control and rolled the jeep..no one hurt by some miracle there. Then, a few months later, the cobalt my daughter has that I am also insuring hit a deer. It was fixable..the only car that wasn't totaled. A few months after that, I'm driving downtown and get rearended and the mitsubishi gets totaled. And now, the car I got to replace the mitsubishi, my nissan got rolled and totaled by my son. I don't even want to think about how high my insurance is going to go up. The last one was the only one where it was the fault on my side, but I don't think that matters to the insurance companies. Heck, they didn't pay all of the mitsubishi but what was still short on that (about 1600) they added to the nissan. I don't know if they will let me do that again..add whatever the insurance doesn't cover and get another car. If not, I will be hoofin it for a while, which, when you live in a town with no real bus service to speak of and no taxi, can really suck.
And the ironic part is that the stereo equipment that Ronny had put in special in the nissan was stolen out of the car New Years Eve. They did find one other car with stuff missing out of it too, but the guy didn't know it was gone until the next day.
I am beyond tired, but everytime I try to sleep, I keep picturing that car rolling over and over...
