Gas line severed at home of Va lawmaker's brother
http://hamptonroads.com/node/547335
Authorities are investigating the severing of a gas line at the home of U.S. Rep. Tom Perriello's brother following the posting of his address online by Tea Party activists.
So now the Tea Party is using terrorism against people it doesn't agree with.

I actually watched the Maddow show last night for a few minutes, and actually agreed with her wholeheartedly regarding some of the folks in the tea party and Sarah Palin's use of gun scope reticles for targetting states where Democrats are possibly going to lose their seats. It is one thing to be against a piece of legislation, but another all together to resort to violence against your fellow citizen. The whole idea of the US is to protect free speech and to have a process for passing legislation. While I dislike the healthcare bill and have no love of the current or previous administration, that fact is that the people voted. There is no reason to attack someone, especially their family, to get your message across. All who read my posts know I am pro Bill of Rights. I am finding myself wanting to become a hermit more and more these days, as extremism is starting to run rampant. The tea party is not a unified body, but the east coast assemblies in many urban areas seem to be lacking a certain set of ethics, which they themselves feel the progressives lack. Kind of ironic.

Hey now... if I would not have responded against this, I would be on the open season hit list as well. Just because someone is not an Obama supporter and against Gov Healthcare doesn't mean they are pro-revolution.

Cmon Why would you sever a gas line and not throw the match? Think about it. Sounds like B.S. to me.

The dudes brother? Why scare him? Guess I need to read the handbook on "A Tea Baggers Guide to scaring nobodys". So I guess they(tea baggers) are a little bit in the "knuckle dragger" catagory.

I am curious to the odds of finding both a broken gas line and a note implying someones future dead, just after some group that really does not like you released your address on their website while suggesting to go over thank him. Being an coincidence.Cmon Why would you sever a gas line and not throw the match? Think about it. Sounds like B.S. to me.

All the time, and I often times agree with them. This act, if there was one, is rotten. What has been shown to be true are the brick throwing threats and such. The bring your guns to Washington is another stupid act done to intimidate, which is not the correct approach to this. If your stance is that actions do not matter, as long as the end justifies the means, then you are no different from those members of the Ku Klux Klan that lynched black folks. Rotten actions getting to your end yields a rotten end.

This might be the first thread that I've agreed with every poster.
Of course, I will go further and say that if caught they should be tried as domestic terrorists, like ALF members, etc."I was put on trial twice near Y2K for acting like Jesus and claiming to be the Messiah. Its not everyday that a man parks a Chariot of Fire in front of a tomb and stands against the US government with a bow and razor tipped arrows over his shoulder. I wore a suit of armor and was protected by an invisible bubble and my sharp tongue was more than the judicial system could handle."Jake

Another thing I agree with you. In fact, many are so pro-guantanamo bay, throw their supposed christian souls in there with some islamic radicals. Perhaps we can cut spending by throwing the vultures to the wolves, ending the need for trials.

Seems you are right (as usual) lycanox. This should not be tolerated. Pico made an excellent point also.

you realize that threats like this have happened all through history towards who ever is doing these kinds of things...
I do not condone it... but hey the piglosi people all rammed all this down peoples throats and she even made a statement something along the lines of ...she was going to do this whether people liked it or not... well what part of a dumb bitch is she... she was inciting right there... and if she gets wacked it is her own fault...
i would not condone that either but you people on that lib left leaning side started this with all the ramming and cramming this through and lied so friggin many times about what you would do to make all this available... so most of the retaliation is none's fault except those idiots in DC...
They wanted a fight and knowing these things would happen to them ...they did it anyways...
Oh and pico... you may assume what ever you want on the people wearing guns into DC... but you know better because no one was carrying ammo... and that is a fact... and it is their legal constitutional right to do so... and even though many think it was intimidation.... no it was not, but all the people knew it would happen and the MSM blew that all out of proportion as well... just like they do everything that way... and it surprises no one that these same ass hats are going to go after anyone that speaks ill of the clown in the office...
so what do you expect... this type of thing has been going on for decades and it is not going to get better anytime soon..... and you remember who caused it and then remember how it was crammed down peoples throats when so many were against it... and right now people are angry and they are scared, because there are so many things starting to come out on this scam that people are getting ready to explode...
maybe it is time to either force change or let it all fall and then start over... i personally opt for the later, because then real change would be seen and america would be right back to what it was.... a real america, of the people and for the people.
Now, as i said i do not condone such things... but there is nothing that is going to stop it for awhile... oh and if you think this is fun wait till the shooting war starts when he tries to enforce insurance issues... then it is going to get ugly, and again it will be their fault....and people will react in a very bad way. but consider the source of the anger and why

I know they had no ammo, but the point is you should not threaten with violence a bunch of politicians on their home turf after the 9/11 Patriot Act gives them so much damn power as it is. A bunch of gun toting citizens, which I applaud and am proud to be considered one, should not take a bunch of guns to Washington, whether loaded or unloaded, to make a point. I am at the endowment level of membership in the NRA, and have no problem with open carry, wishing it was legal in all 50 States, especially the one where I live these days. I have put my money where my mouth is, but this is clearly designed to provoke.
As for forcing change, we saw how that turned out back in 1861. These days, it would be even bloodier. Not to sound like a democrat, but forcing that kind of change is one I could live without. Gun rights are not so endangered yet as to have people die over them.

There are too many Democrats who support gun rights for that to go away. I happen to be one of them. If you take gun rights away from the citizens then what you will have are empowered and fearless criminals. Even Europe (we don't have no guns here) is seeing a rise in crime committed with guns. I also don't see anything wrong with those who are into target practice and other legal sports involving fire arms. Besides, you take those away, what's next - bows and arrows?
While not a gun owner myself, I do see a need and use for them in society. As long as the gun lobby stays strong, which it is, and as long as they remain popular with the majority of people in the country, which they are, then this is not something to worry about.
But yeah, carrying unloaded guns around Washington is inciteful and potentially dangerous. Suppose one of the people parading their guns around decides not to unload... and take a shot at someone they don't like while they're at it. Not a good idea.Last edited by Singularity; Mar 25th, 2010 at 1:57 PM.

you do know that it might just get worse that 1861 was.... and people carrying guns is not a threat ...it made the point that we have the right...and it was not by that many people that did it anyways, and the cops were not worried about it at all...
I would rather not have blood either, but the pressure is building and i have been saying it for a good ling time now...and sadly it is near to the blow up point...and there are not enough cops to stop it...nor enough military.
I am not going to advocate this part but it is damn sure something that the congress better keep in mind... they started it with all this force and people are going to push back...millions are feeling and seeing their freedoms taken away...(yes I know all about the patriot act) ... and they have damn near had enough...
There is an anger that is not going away... and with a lit fuse on a powder keg, we are a heart beat from going ...boooom.
And it has just got started... nearly all of the more powerful milita groups have gone underground, and why... ? Think about that for awhile
