Who is the Serpent?
Genesis 3:4 (King James Version)
4And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
Exodus 7:10 (King James Version)
10And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.
Numbers 21:8 (King James Version)
8And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.
Numbers 21:9 (King James Version)
9And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
Job 26:13 (King James Version)
13By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.
Amos 9:3 (King James Version)
3And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them:
John 3:14 (King James Version)
14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

the serpent of Genesis 3 :
The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. [Rev 12;9]
for Jesus-Christ being lifted up , like Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness ...
it means that Jesus-Christ was considered cursed, so that those who look at Him and beleive, be redeemed of curse [see Galatians 3:13 & Isaiah 53]
you quote Exodus 7 with the rods becoming serpents.
We notice that God foreknew that pharaoh would ask a miracle. It was not God's idea to make a 'show'
When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.
Nevertheless,
Aaron 's rod swallowed the rods of the 'wise men'
For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods. [Exodus 7:12]
serpents speak of curses, rods of spiritual authority
The spiritual authority that was behind Moses and Aaron was greater than all the magic of Egypt.
For me, and at the light of the New Testamen, it means that the curse that was on Christ-Jesus when He was on the Cross, swallows all other curses.

Why should the use of serpent imagery in one part of the Bible mean the same thing as serpent imagery in another? The Bible was written by MANY different people in different times. Even IF God directed its writing, it is reasonable to believe that he based examples he gave upon the culture of the people writing it at that time- which CHANGED throughout the history of the writing of the Bible.

Regardless of that, Jesus Himself told the disciples He was the serpent Moses was lifting up in the wilderness....This cannot be disputed.....My question is, "Is there something we didn't know we didn't know?" The mystery of God has not finished.....I guarantee there is a spiritual earthquake coming that no one is expecting....Something strange happened to me on 3/11,/2010 after starting my book, "Two in the Field: The little book that will turn the whole world upside down: What Matthew 24:40 really means"
This picture (one of several I screen-shot) i'm going to show you utterly blew my mind, and was found while exploring earthquake faults on Google maps....Let me know what you all think. I will be amazed if someone else has not already discovered this....Feel free to join my Facebook group if you like also.

There was no physical animal serpent in the garden of Eden, the serpent is referring to Lucifer himself.
Just as we refer to Herod as the fox, or Jesus as the Lamb, they are not actually these furry creatures.
When Eve had this glorious looking angel of light come to her, and tempt her, she fell into this temptation.
"He who calls on the name of the Lord, shall be saved."

You are on to something Goldmoon, but you do err in saying the temptation came from the serpent. Ask yourself why Eve was even standing in front of the tree to be spoken to by the serpent. Let's look at what Paul says about it and we will find out exactly why Eve was there to begin with.
Romans 4:15 (King James Version)
15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.
Romans 7:8 (King James Version)
8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
Concupiscence - 1) desire, craving, longing, desire for what is forbidden, lust

The first law
Genesis 2:15-17 (King James Version)
15And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Romans 7:9 (King James Version)
9For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
So we now need to ask ourselves, did God know what Paul knew about the law? The only answer can be, of course God knew this, which also can give us the liberty to conclude that God's creation, by no means, got out of control. What happened in the garden at the beginning was what was supposed to happen.
Consider this: Does a prophet mean anything, without first, the false prophet having his time? How can a prophet be appreciated without us first observing the false?
Would we ever appreciate the glory of light when it comes, unless we were all in darkness first?
You will say in your darkness, "God didn't create evil..." Oh really?
Isaiah 45:7 (King James Version)
7I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
God knew we could never truly know, and appreciate Him, without first putting us in darkness, and showing us the opposite of Him. Notice the dark part of the day comes first, at sundown, not midnight. "...And the evening and the morning were the first day..."
1 Corinthians 1:27 (King James Version)
27But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

Did you read the scriptures that went with the thread or did you just read the title and reply....We are only looking for intelligent replies here not degenerate murderers.....Who do you think you helped with your immature ending there?
Are you like 13 years old or something here...calling people dummies? Is this what you call strength? Unintelligent speech?
Your response is incoherent at best, so who are you calling dumb here, the kettle?

And like posting on a message board within a thread is written by different people at different times, but it is all following a course or fluid of spirit of the original poster. All posts occur at different times and are relative to one another, so you have the same kind of communal literature that makes up a whole concept in a short span of time, but a theoretical God cannot inspire through spirit different writers in different times and cultures to write about the same thing and it become one book? Knowledge is ever increasing or don't you understand the meaning behind that?

Uncle Sam is a two bit coward - always taking money from his brother's kids and telling them he wants them to join his Army.

The serpent is not who or what you may think, IMHO. Matthew 24:24 Great deceptions? Well, think about it. One's truth is another's lie. Given all the languages the Bible has been written in and translated to over time, then translated again from the translations? How much is erroneous that we have today? How much is missing? Take the catholic versions of the Bible and the KJV or NIV. They vary themselves in books being omitted. Until all the books are found and translated properly, the serpent can not be correctly identified, using the Bible as a guide alone.

The Serpent is clearly described as Lucifer/the devil himself through Genesis to revelations. It appears he was given many names...
