Abe Lincoln - Prophet
“I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. Corporations have been enthroned an era of corruption in high places will follow and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working on the prejudices of the people until the wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the republic is destroyed." - Abe Lincoln

Well he was right
It's amazing just how far simple logical deduction can take you.Blessings in the name of my Lord Jesus Christ who came in the flesh and now sits at the right hand of our God on high.
A confession of faith that the modern Evangelical movement can no longer make!

As you probably guessed that's what I would think about prophets. I also never meant to imply that Abe was a Prophet of God just a smart man.

Here is the complete passage.
"We may congratulate ourselves that this cruel war is nearing its end.
It has cost a vast amount of treasure and blood. . . .
It has indeed been a trying hour for the Republic; but
I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes
me to tremble for the safety of my country. As a result of the war,
corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places
will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong
its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth
is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed.
I feel at this moment more anxiety for the safety
of my country than ever before, even in the midst of war.
God grant that my suspicions may prove groundless."
"The passage appears in a letter from Lincoln to (Col.) William F. Elkins, Nov. 21, 1864."

-Huh?
Since the words; 'money power' precede hyphenlessly, the word 'wealth', one could easily substitute or add the words 'wealth and power is aggregated in a few hands', etc. -Meaning Governments, as well as a Government's rewarding of 'corporations' for helping to win wars, which has been true for every war's aftermath in History.
President Dwight Eisenhower not only defined, but blew the whistle on the 'military industrial complex'. Lincoln was only hinting-at it." Take Badlaw's body out to the gold-mine 'n toss it down a shaft. "

That's capitalism for you. The greatest nation on earth has too many rich people, and not nearly enough Iraqi or Afghani slaves. What has Rome II come to?
"In the last days perilous times will come, for men shall have a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof." 2 Tim 3
