Asteroid impact- Craters are bigger than you think...
People seem to think that a "small asteroid" of maybe 40m across couldn't do much damage. But the the Arizona asteroid was only 40m across, and it made a 1.2km crater. In terms of Toutatis, being 4km across on its largest part, that would make a crater 45km across. But hats not includind its other part. If it hit on its side, it would make a crater 65km in diameter. Thats huge! the dust that would be sent into the atmosphere would surely kill us all. That just goes to show how big an impact could be, if one was ever to happen that is!

The question is not IF one will strike the planet, but rather WHEN. It has happened, and it will happen again.

It depends where it hits, the velocity, what it is composed of, and several other factors. I agree that asteroid is the most likely cause of humanity's demise, however.

The April issue of Maxim had a 2 page spread called "Impact" that attempted to describe, in a time line fashion, what a fare sized impact would do to the planet. While not terribly informative, it was visually eye-catching. Bubba would become all glassy-eyed as he read about his future fate.

Juss tink, peepol
Even the smallest one could be the worst one!
It's completely normal we don't see the biggest craters, WE ARE BUT ANTS to this planet, I'll dare to bet that one day we'll discover that out planet isn't just that flattened ball we're used to see.
