Friend or foe?
Thought this could go in the Philosophy section as nothing is proven or in the open yet. I don't see this as a conspiracy (only the outcome of this case will, or will not)
So I open this thread in the assumption this is true
In the thread about the Disclosure project, DA raises a good point about disabeling "our" weapons. I was thinking the same thing. Why would they do this? To protect ourselves, or to take away our defenses in silence?
If friendly intentions :
This planet is but a grain of dust in the entire vacuum of space. What would they want with this funked up planet? Maybe the answer to that is that life-holding planets like our earth are rare, and that they want to preserve them from extinction (Like maybe Mars died). But to be honest, I think this is the only possibility of a visit with friendly intentions...
Not so friendly :
This planet is but a grain of dust in the entire vacuum of space. What would they want with this funked up planet? Maybe the answer to this question is because we hold some natural resources that could be of big importance over there, with the workers already in place (some bunch of over-sexed monkeys), ready to be enslaved. I can imagine that over 50 species of intelligent beings can't agree all the time, and there will probably be some rotten apples in the basket aswell.
For example, the free energy thingie to save our planet : if I were a slave driver, and had a free source of energy to keep my machines going and keep my slaves healthy, so optimizing the revenue....I'll be glad to give it to you over-sexed monkeys and be your so-called friend to stab you in the back later...
Again this is hypothetical, it has not yet been proven or not to be true, but if so, I'm not so very convinced of their friendly intentions.

If a species so advanced they can travel through space wanted to enslave us or kill us, they would have done so long ago. I am not saying I agree they exist, but if they do, they are pretty friggen advanced.

Why would they of done it a long time ago? I haven't used my imagination in a long long time but lets see some possible scenarios.
Perhaps an intergalatic council was established (sort of like the UN) and they agreed on not attacking or getting directly involved with us? To let us learn and advance on our own?
If they really are humanoid then perhaps there is some force that created us all and they're trying to figure their origins just as we are.
Or maybe we're just some giant reality show to them?:p
The possibilities are endless.
One thing is for sure though. We often have the mentality of shooting first then asking questions later. With that in mind perhaps we might turn them against us regardless.

LOL, The Moral Fiber of Aliens
According to Sumerian writing. The Annunaki did enslave mankind, and were also worshipped as Gods. By interbreeding with humans they created a subspecies of and Annunaki/Human. This subspecies probably had a mix of loyalties i.e. some being loyal to the aliens/gods and others to the humans. You have the Hindu/Vedic (Can't recall the main battles), Christian (Battle of Angels), Greek (Olympians vs Titans),and Norse (Gods vs Giants). This could all be a retelling of our ancient history. Being superior in just about every way, the hybrids would eventually have set themselves up as royalty or living gods in our culture. They probably dispersed throughout the globe and ruled the various people there. This would explain similarities in architecture i.e. S. American pyramids, Egyptian pyramids, and Asian pyramids. They probably would have passed on their true origins within a tightly controlled community. This would continue on throughout modern times. This weaponizing of space could be for a couple of reason, 1) The true Annunaki (or other aliens) are returning. 2) Its time for a major power grab once again. 3) The hybrids are preparing to war with each other. If a species so advanced they can travel through space wanted to enslave us or kill us, they would have done so long ago. I am not saying I agree they exist, but if they do, they are pretty friggen advanced.

If they were friendly that would have shown themselves to us purely to give us perspective of who we are and where we stand in the whole scheme of things. Uniting us through the knowledge of our species being our common thread. The fact that they have not done this leads me to believe that they don't want us to unite but would rather have us fight each other.
Why us? I believe we have something unique in our genome structure. Something that they would like to have in their future offspring. So they breed with us. They wish to evolve so adopt DNA strands to creat hybrids. All conjecture but I love it how all the conspiracy's loose strands get tied up into one big picture. To Protect and Serve

Sumerian writing wasn't about aliens, but was about gods. Sumerians didn't know anything we don't know, as the aliens sure didn't help them not get decimated.

I don't believe aliens ever visited us. The reasons?
- they would have gone public (for ATV's reasons);
- chances we would be found are so slim, it is unbelieveable. We truly are a speck of dust in the universe: there are billions of galaxies, each holding billions of stars. It would be like finding a microscopic needle in a mega haystack.

Imagine this :
The Aliens have been coming here for 10.000's of years, always enslaving us until the resources needed are exhaust. They come here thru a wormhole that opens only once every few 1000 years, some stay here, interbreed here, and probably die here before the others are back. That's just enough time to fill the resources again and take over to enslave us, and present themselves as "Gods". Now, maybe they missed one wormhole, or we evolved much faster than foreseen by them, due to a Zarkonian asshole who crashed his 2nd hand space scooter in Roswell.
So now we won't see them as Gods anymore, we see them as an Intelligent Alien Race. That's maybe something they didn't count on, and don't want to end up like the US invading Iraq (Overwhealming in the beginning, but nothing than a pain in the ass afterwards).
A good idea to make a pact with these over-sexed monkeys is to giv'em some technology, technology that they could use for a good purpose, and will pay back double in the end. Let's giv'em free energy, we'll be everyone's friend, they'll build world-wide-energy-webs, so we don't have to.
And then...STRIP 'EM!! blow up the energy plants and cause an ELE, big chance that by the time we come back, they'll believe we're Gods again....
Just a thought..

Excuse me?? Do you have ANY idea what kind of distances we are talking about?!? There are billions of galaxies, and the closest one is 2,400,000 light years away (Andromeda). Light travels at 200,000 miles per second. You do the calculations.

Why a different galaxy? We could just visit our surronding solar systems in ours.

Proxima Centauri = 4.2 ly (light years)
Barnard's Star = 6.0 ly
The light of our own sun takes 6 minutes to reach us. Now these two examples shine in our sky as they did in 2000 and 1998.
We know that these are very probably not equipped with planets.
Now let's assume we could build a spaceship that travels at 10 times the current speed available. Cassini now travels at 70,000 mph. Let's assume we'd be able to reach 700,000 mph.
The distance to Barnard's star = 378,432,000,000 miles = 540,617 hours = 61.71 years. Proxima Centauri would take around 40 years to reach.
At current speeds we'd be talking about 600 and 400 years.- If you wind up with a boring, miserable life because you listened to your parents, your teacher, your priest or some guy on TV telling you how to do your shit, then YOU DESERVE IT. (Zappa)

Now that seems more reasonable no? Now I'm going pure sci-fi, but all of what we know and capable of is based on what we've experinced and theorized on by laws which we've observed. Now how about years down the line we figure out different theories and develope greater technologies based on these new theories that which we thought would never be possible.
It's science afterall. Given thought, perhaps they developed warp gates and warp drives for their ships? If they can figure out how to get their ships to travel at 2 000 AU these distances wouldn't be that great.

The 60 and 40 year figure was of course calculated at speeds 10 times of what is now possible. There are wild theories on solar wind sails, crafts being pushed by photons. The flaw is that they would be pushed to some speed before exiting the solar system, but nowhere near lightspeed. Then the next star should be used for more acceleration, etc. etc. All great theories, but very very distant future.
To all beings in the universe the Big Bang came at exactly the same moment in time (in effect, the beggining of time), so why would any civilisation would be so far ahead of us to have developed lightspeed travel??- If you wind up with a boring, miserable life because you listened to your parents, your teacher, your priest or some guy on TV telling you how to do your shit, then YOU DESERVE IT. Well we came into existence through all the others before us being killed off by natural disasters, etc. in our evolution process. It's a long shot, but what if under whatever conditions those planets are under, that those planets didn't go through an evolutionary process (in terms of species) as long as ours? Now, hypothetically, what if they evoled quicker than us on their planet due to the conditions of their world and ended up with superior intelligent beings far sooner than we have on our own world?
Even if none of that is true, it should be taken into consideration they wouldn't have the same history as us. The Dark Ages set us back awhile, among other events. Couple other things together like perhaps them not having as many wars as us etc, then perhaps they would of advanced faster than us in intelligence due to that.

You're assuming that the only method of travel is linear Dutchie.. I don't believe this is so, and I think time will prove me right. I'm sure you're familiar with all the differing theories on space travel so I don't have to go into it.

Joe BigSky and I had a little discussion on the subject through e-mail, I'll past the last one in this post. He had exactly the same idea: what if on some other planet conditions were far better and nature less violent than on our own?
In other words, I do not doubt the existence of life somewhere else in the universe. I doubt that it will be able to reach us, that's all.

I dont think its impossible that other beings could come here. We may be behind but I dont think that exploration by others would be completely out of the question.

hello,
I have a question what is an Annunaki? I have seen it posted in several topics and on other websites, but don't know what it is? Any insight would be great. I am assuming it is some form of an alien? RIGHT?! Any help would be great. Thanks,
Jessica
