Why do we yell at the screen?
??? Watching Chefs Ravens, and screamed at the screen. Why? Go to a bar, every yells for one team or another. Baseball, Football, Racing, what ever, we yell at the screen. Why? Do we really think they will hear us? Just yelled fight, fight, fight. Uh, do I think they will if I yell it loud enough? No, but I still do it. Or guy is running with the ball, Run! RUN! Run like a constipated weiner dog!

Were you rooting for the Chefs or the Crows?

Chefs, Matt played for the Patriots so gotta root for him. And I still love that Snickers commercial. "Looks great but, who are the Chefs?"

I don't yell at screens.
Jim Crow America relegated Blacks to the back of buses. Israel wants Arabs excluded from the bus entirely.

I yell... usually at outrageously awful officiating calls that go-against whoever I'm rooting-for.
During the '82 NCAA basketball championship-game, I threw a glass at the screen, breaking both... when NC State won it on a lucky last-second slop-shot, after hacking 'n fouling Phi Slamma Jamma the entire game." Take Badlaw's body out to the gold-mine 'n toss it down a shaft. "

i don't usually yell at what's on tv. i've yelled at the radio, which is more puzzling - even to me. but when you live alone, you have the luxury of being as vocal as you want.

Ror, nice Cart and Tahn. Yes, we don't yell at the screen but the players, or refs blowing calls.

I always figured that the people shouting "at the screen" in bars were actually shouting their opinions so that other people will hear it and instantly know that they know the sport better than anybody else there.
If people yell at the screen (or the players who are on the screen) when they're alone, I think they need to seek advice from some sort of mental-health professional.
