    My crisis is over.....phew!!!

    Disable These Ads!
Well now, I've been through a real humdinger of a ride since February....yup.....I face complete and utter darkeness, my life in turmoil and the only thing keeping me still sane was AO......Depression is a strange animal!! That might seem odd, but AO is a dark website in many respects and also a release for dark thoughts and ideas.

Well anyhow I have since left London and found a new job out in the countryside where I belong. The human mind is an odd companion, it shows us true joy and a sense of ease with the world and it also plays dark tricks and destroys meaningful things. I'm sat here in the sunshine on Easter Sunday alone in a coffee bar thinking how different things are already, when not so long ago I was steeped in absolute darkness....a feeling of no escape.

Its easy to sit here at a PC and type in words, but no so easy to envisage the person on the other end of the screen. To those who have been kind to me on AO I say thank you from the bottom of my heart...you know who you are guys........THANKYOU!

My new journey is just begun, at 43 I feel like a child again...a new adventure with a soundness of mind I haven't had for nearly 3 years.

Looking forward to engaging once more with you all...including Ning [my arch enemy]

    Regards

    Palerider

Seems the darkness of depression is hitting many these days.

Giving up just doesn't make sense though. And what does that mean anyway... curling up in a fetal position in a corner somewhere and "check out"? That would be worse than just keeping on keeping on.

If there's one thing we probably all have noticed is that the only thing that is really constant is change. Sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse.

Glad your out of the city.

And glad things are on an upswing for you.

Thanks New Wine...its been a long journey and on the way I can say by experience I agree with you on the rise of depression people are experiencing.

On change...I agree, it is certainly constant and not always certain.

I have gone through one of the deepest depressions I can think of a while back..don't even remember exact month because to tell the truth I try not to think of how bad it was and then also cus my memory is not good as it used to be..but anyway I went through it posting here on AO and have to say that yeah, for a 'dark' place, some of the best people in the world are right here. I'm glad you're climbing out of your own depression, and will keep you in my prayers.
