Is Jesus going to rule planet earth for 1000 years when he returns?

Lets see what happens when he does come again.
This is what Jesus said about his own coming and I thought it would be a good place to start….Lol.

Matt 24
"Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. 36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. 37 "For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. 38 "For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Who survived Noahs day? Who will survive the coming of Christ?
Zero population = no millennial reign. Zero heaven and earth = no earthly reign post 2nd coming.

Jesus continues…;
Matt 25

"But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne.
32 "All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;
33 and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.
34 "Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world..............
.............
41 "Then He will also say to those on His left, 'Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;

So in other words everyone gets what is coming to them when he returns right?
This event of his coming again is identical with the Final judgment in Rev 20

Rev 20
11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them.
12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds.
14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.
15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Notice that the Revelation 20 scripture mentions the heavens and the earth being sent into oblivion…verse 11.

Getting back to what Jesus has said about his own coming again..

He said heaven and earth will pass away…..it would be a day like what happened in Noahs day when only the good people survived and everyone else perished.

So how is Jesus going to reign on the earth after his coming when the earth has been sent into oblivion as a result of his coming?

Its clear that the righteous are the only ones left, and what is promised to them is a Mansion in Gods own house…not a temporary dwelling on earth for another agonising 1000 years.

This is what Paul said about Jesus coming again

2Thess 1
For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, 8 dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10 when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed—for our testimony to you was believed.

Simply, only the righteous are left at the conclusion of the second coming.

Introducing Peters mindset,

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. 11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat!

13 But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.
More of the same right?
What promise is Peter refering to ? Where does righteousness dwell?

Jn 14

"In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 "If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.

Peter and his congregation looked forward to Christ coming again, whereby they would inherit a Mansion in Gods own house…..not a flat in Jerusalem for an extra 1000 years.

Jesus final word.

Rev 22
12 "Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. 13 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."
14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.
