Hm. Notice how the Fox talkers aren't claiming that the weather proves there's no global warming now?

Ror. So true and exactly what I was thinking. When it snows? They go on about Global Warming is false. Record temps all across not just America but Canada and Mexico? Not a fucking whisper.Have you noticed how all those Fox talkers like Sean Hannity and Neil Cavuto who like to make global-warming jokes when heavy snowfalls arrive in the winter are utterly silent on the subject right about now, when the nation is enduring what could prove to be a historic heat wave?
Shauna Theel at Media Matters noticed too:
Over the past week, Fox News has not mentioned human-induced climate change or global warming while reporting on or discussing the current heat wave, according to a search of Snapstream video and Nexis transcripts.
The Washington Post reported that this "long duration, widespread heat wave continues to bake virtually the entire central U.S" and "969 daily high temperature records were either tied or broken in the country" through July 16. The Post further reported:

Is that like a horse whisperer 'r somethin'?
" Wilbur-r-r-r... "
" Ed, you're not an eco-imperialist, are you? "" Take Badlaw's body out to the gold-mine 'n toss it down a shaft. "

Right, except this is about how you righties scream that even a single flake of snow disproves global warming, but 100+ temps across the Continent? Not a peep about global warming.

No. We're coming to the end of a La Niña, the cooling twin of the warming El Nino. Additionally, we're at the beginning of a negative Pacific Decadal Oscillation in which Niña's predominate over Nino's. Right now, the models are divided as to whether we're about to get a double-dip La Niña.

If people want to opportunistically deploy localized, short-term weather to make silly arguments over climate (at least 30 years of weather) then you'll also want to factor the very snowy, cold and extensive northern hemisphere winters of late. Or not, if that doesn't support your position.

Well you guys may be having a heat wave but where I am I find that I am still having to put a jacket on every now and again. It never seems to stop raining either.
That static area of high pressure over the US is really starting to look artificial because there is not the same thing happening on the rest of the planet. In fact we are sitting at 13 'c at the moment. Normally the heat here is oppressive this time of year because of the very long days.Blessings in the name of my Lord Jesus Christ who came in the flesh and now sits at the right hand of our God on high.
A confession of faith that the modern Evangelical movement can no longer make!
