Where were you on 9/11?
Dunno if this is the right forum section but i just wonder if anybody wants to mention their feelings?
I was working in a shop in Britain on 9/11 2001 when one of the shopladies came out from the back room (where they had a radio) and said "a plane has just hit a skyscraper in New York, people have been killed".
Later she kept bringing us updates- "they think muslims done it.....another skyscraper has been hit....." and so on.
My first thought was "I'm not too surprised because I knew the muslims would take their revenge bigtime one day, so it was just waiting to happen"
Later that day the Queen ordered the US National Anthem to be played outside Buckingham Palace as a gesture for the American tourists..

I'm on the west coast, I climbed out of bed to go to work, turned on the news only to see what had happened.
Very sad day that was, the world has never been the same since.Blessings in the name of my Lord Jesus Christ who came in the flesh and now sits at the right hand of our God on high.
A confession of faith that the modern Evangelical movement can no longer make!

I think we won that war....about 9 years ago, and it only took us 11 weeks, hey wait a minute! It's a secret Illuminati code warning us about the second coming of Elvis. Oh sure, the lamestream media won't say anything about it because they're libbrel! It's been proved by evidence, but nobody believes me, more proof of a cover up! Also, God told me on October 3rd, nobody will be able to replace spark plugs in cars, a sign of his great and mighty power. Like the bible says: Never forget to always remember to not eat pork chops on a tuesday, as tuesdays are an abomination unto the lard. Go ahead and prove me wrong! Hah, can't do it! Which makes me right again!

I had clients on the 34th floor of WTC2. So I watched in horror and disbelief. I was scheduled to go there for a meeting the following Tuesday.

I finished college in the early after noon and met my ex at our local where he had band practice in the backroom. I got to the pub and everyone was sat around the TV. I got there in time to see the second plane hit. It was completely surreal, everyone was speechless.

I and my daughter had dreamed the night before that the Statue of Liberty was destroyed. She dreamed somebody blew it up while my dream was that it crumbled to the ground in a dust heap. Isn't that weird?
Looking back I think the dreams were prophetic- not necessarily just for "9-11" either, but regarding the new laws and measure that followed, U.S. decisions and actions at home and around the world."The Alice-in-Wonderland nature of this pronouncement is not lost on me..."

I had done a tarot reading the night before and the cards literally shimmered with intensely distressing energy. The most prominent was the tower, and then death. I was so unnerved and with the most peculiar feelings about this....a tangible energy that I was completely unfamiliar with and had never before encountered, that I immediately felt compelled to go for an energy clearing walk on the beach. The water was swirling in white-peaked waves, the wind chaotic and un-calm all around me. My feelings of dread and unnerve intensified and I was crying.
The next morning after a restless and fitful night, I discovered the most bizarre and inane pictures, to me (via the internet), of a very odd and unnatural looking president, sitting in surreal calmness, continuing to read a storybook (upside down, it seemed) to a roomful of school children, even in the wake of being informed of one of the most tragic and unbelievable events ever to take place on American soil. My first thought, upon seeing his face, real time, was that he was not surprised in the least that this had happened, expected it rather. I was stunned beyond compare.
It changed my entire view and perception of the American government and the world forever.
(I fervently did not want Bushjr. to become president, whereas before I had never been at all much political.)
(And within a month I became pregnant. Such strange timing.... all of it, was to me.)Last edited by calliope; Sep 5th, 2011 at 11:53 AM.

I was sitting in the office going over estimates when it came on the news. I sat in disbelief as I watched it unfold. By 8 am the office was full of customers and my workers. By 9 am I sent the help home and closed the shop for the day.
I remember watching Bush just sitting there with that "oh shit weve done it now" look on his face. Even to this day when I think about 9/11,the only word that comes to mind is "TREASON".[SIGPIC][SIGPIC]

Well, think about it this way for a minute. He was in a roomful of children who were very excited to have the President of the United States come read to them. Just as that was commencing, it is whispered in his ear that the U.S. is under attack.
It could have been very upsetting for him to of got up and bolted out of there. He had to maintain a sense of calm. He had to act as if nothing was wrong. He had to appear Presidential. Those children look to him as the leader of the country.
He said as much in an interview, when asked about that. He said that he knew not to panic and that he had trust in the people he put in charge to handle things for a few minutes while he wrapped up the story. He said the first bit of information did not contain enough detail for him to even know what to do, and again he had to rely on his trusted staff until he could get back at the helm- all of what, 15 minutes?
If his book was upside down- well can you imagine what mindset you might be in, in the same circumstance? He was bound to be stunned but couldn't show any of that- he knew he was being filmed to boot.
I have had to deal with very troubling circumstances while minding children as well. The children look to you as their leader to set the tone. Common sense as well as experience has taught me that worst thing you can do when you are in that position is to show weakness, fear, or panic.
Bush sucked, sure, but I completely understand where he was coming from with the reading the book thing, in front of the class, acting as if nothing had happened in front of the children. There are near countless criticisms I can level at Bushco, but that isn't one of them.
Just another perspective.Last edited by Nu Kua; Sep 5th, 2011 at 6:17 PM.

Incidentally as a Brit i could never figger out why some of you never liked Bush. Somebody must have liked him because the American people voted him back in for a second term.
He kept you all free of further terror attacks so what are you complaining about? His quotes sound alright to me-
"This is war. Somebody's gonna pay"
"Countries that harbor terrorists are as guilty as they are"
"Give us the terrorists or we'll come and get 'em"
"America will never seek a permission slip to defend herself"
"A soft line toward terror is not gonna happen on my watch"
"My job is to secure the homeland and thats exactly what i'm gonna do"
"We will not sit back and wait to be hit again"
And he unleashed the American Eagle on your behalf-

The best I could figure, other than people voting for the party and not the man, is that they related to his plain-spokeness and felt he was a straight-shooter.
Plus when he was emotional about something, he could give a really good speech. People who jived with him were stirred from the heart. It was details he fuq'ed on. He never was a detail man.
I never liked him either, but at the time, a lot of my distaste of him was that I was still a small thinker regarding politics and I didn't like him at first simply because he was Republican.
The war in Iraq and the torture his administration condoned sickened me to the core- and I also had/have a great big huge problem with the dehumanization of the people via the Patriot Acts and privacy invasions. Of course those relate directly to my biggest complaints about the current President, whom I did support. He so willingly extends and supports all those policies and actions that were the most troubling to me, though when he was running, he gave an entirely different impression."The Alice-in-Wonderland nature of this pronouncement is not lost on me..."

Well, you have to remember that is the same person that actually proposed to destroy the US in a speech. But then again, during uncertain times, people seek stability. If there isnt a proper counter to that. Its obvious people are going to vote for what they know.
As for where I was.
Sitting in my room. Watching the living daylights.
I muttered something on the line of dumb pilots when hearing of the first plane. (It was initially reported as an harmless sports plane over here). But turned to CNN the minute I heard of the second one.

Also 911 was an inside job. I felt this way from day one when I noticed flaws in the "live" coverage...and also bush is so fucking stupid he tried to read" my pet goat "upside down

I was in bed and had just woke up. I turned on the TV, I think around 8:40 AM, and saw that one of the Towers had been hit. I wasn't thinking terrorist attack, and wasn't really that alarmed, considering it was New York, and the air traffic is heavy. Then I saw the second tower hit and we all knew without a doubt what this was.
I never have been much of a flag waver, but I bought one for the front of my van. Most of U.S. did something like that, it seemed.
I've ignored most of the conspiracy theories since, although I do believe the buildings were prewired. However, I think this was to protect surrounding structures in the event of an attack and asymmetrical collapse. It was the only way to limit liability for the insurance carriers, and not just those holding a policy on the buildings, but everyone from the architects to the contractors. If those buildings had toppled over onto others, there would have been many more lives lost, and unspeakable damage far beyond what we saw happen.
I'm also am inclined to believe that the Bush administration knew this was likely to happen on their watch. Does this make them culpable? I don't think so, but it's creepy, and smells of a never ending need to train the next generation of military officers in actual combat.
The people who worship that meteorite in Mecca were a little too easy to kill, however, so it's taken a few more years of mayhem to make it a real education.
I don't like people who worship meteorites and 911 helped me to see this.Last edited by Raptor Witness; Sep 6th, 2011 at 10:57 PM.

I was with my Dad, in Westboro District Court, MA pursuing a complaint concerning stolen family artifacts. When I left the Court and turned on the radio they were saying a small plane hit the tower. A little later they said another plane had hit the second tower and they were commercial jets. When I arrived at home and turned on the TV the towers were falling. I was horrified!

I was at work painting mailbox posts and aside from the deaths most due to stupidity it was a happy day for me. It was about time someone had the balls to punch the evil doers of the USA in the teeth. Im not sure if I laughed or clapped more.

I was getting ready for work when I saw it on the TV. Thought it was one of those "It could happen" shows at first, then the second plane hit. After that, I went to work at Blockbuster, rented movies to hordes of people who all said they were "tired of all the media coverage", and then I spent two hours of company time getting gas for my car because my boss was an idiot and thought we might run out of gas...
As for the world never being the same again after that...yes things have changed, but I don't think my daily life has changed that much because of the events to be honest. I still go to work, pay my bills, attend college, and indulge in my typical distractions without fear of the gestapo kicking n my door and taking me away for talking about the NAU, Amero, or whatever conspiracy nonsense is being spouted these days."Beneath this mask is more than a face. I tuned in at home just in time to see the second plane hit. Not long after I went for a walk and immediately noticed the eerily empty airspace above.
