Lesbian Couple Thrown Off Plane for Being Lesbians
http://news.yahoo.com/l-word-star-bo...235113248.html
I know, from L Word, Celebrities aren't people, blah blah. I loved the show, but am ignoring who she is/was and focusing on the fact she is thrown off the plane for being a Lesbian.Hailey, 40, tweeted that a flight attendant had told her that Southwest "was a 'family' airline and kissing was not ok," and that she and her companion were then "escorted off the plane for getting upset about the issue."
"SouthwestAir endorses homophobic employees," she tweeted. "Since when is showing affection toward someone you love illegal? I want to know what Southwest Airlines considers a 'family.'"
She went on to tweet: "Boycott SouthwestAir if you are gay. They don't like us."

According to the story you posted, they were thrown off the plane for the reaction they had when they were told they couldn't be kissing because it was a family plane.
Not for being lesbian.Hailey, 40, tweeted that a flight attendant had told her that Southwest "was a 'family' airline and kissing was not ok," and that she and her companion were then "escorted off the plane for getting upset about the issue."...
...The airline issued a statement saying initial reports it received about the incident "indicate that we received several passenger complaints characterizing the behavior as excessive."
"Our crew, responsible for the comfort of all customers on board, approached the passengers based solely on behavior and not gender," the airline said. "The conversation escalated to a level that was better resolved on the ground, as opposed to in flight."..."The Alice-in-Wonderland nature of this pronouncement is not lost on me..."

How many straight couples have been kicked off for kissing? None? So I should believe that not a single straight couple has ever kissed on a plane? Then where does the Mile High Club come in?

I have never been given a second look for kissing on a plane...

So DaKat, not a single straight couple has ever kissed huh? Cause in today's world, no way would they have not said any thing. Facebook, Twitter, and just flat out bitching to the media, it would have been heard.
So, come on, show me a time when a straight couple was thrown off for kissing. Shit, with the Mile High Club I guess only straight couples are allowed in it. I just googled it, on page 3? None so far... 4? Hey, no straight couples kicked off plane yet.
"straight couple kicked off plane for kissing" is what I searched. Again, page 5 now, none.

Big deal. Since when is it a right to fly in an airplane? It is their plane, abide by their rules or GTFO. And yes, they can make up rules as they go. If people do not like it, then don't fly with them. I thought the Silent Bob incident was proof of this.

Still not finding a single instance of a straight couple thrown off a plane for kissing. Just sounds like good ol fashion homophobia.

At least 2 couples in my experience.. groping and smooch-suck noise-making with children around... not paying attention to inflight-instructions. I've seen hetero couples escorted from amusement-parks, for same. -Asked out of restaurants, concerts, college-corridors, etc. Don't tell me that gays/lesbians/tv's/ts's are comfortable with seeing other gays/lesbians/tv's/ts's physically flaunting having another partner in-public for long minutes-on-end. It's called; 'get a room'...
