Columnist Offers to Fund Drug Tests for Florida Lawmakers
http://videocafe.crooksandliars.com/...ts-florida-law
Oh God I would LOVE this. I could see a bunch of dems testing positive for pot, but then again the evil wiberar states are the ones legalizing it so not a big deal.(Kinda like a gay Democrat isn't big deal because unlike a Republican he didn't run on a "exterminate the gays" platform)"Interestingly, the governor's pee-in-the-cup mandate doesn't apply to the one bunch that whizzes away more tax dollars than anyone else -- the legislators who pass such useless laws," Hiassen wrote in a recent column. "I say line up all 160 of 'em for a patriotic whiz-fest at the Capitol clinic. You think more than 2.5 percent might test positive? Let's find out. And I'll pay for it out of my own pocket. Seriously."
But Republicans? I'm guessing they like a little of the white poweder. That was Bush's drug of choice any ways. Maybe pain killers, like Rush Limbaugh.

Let's test Miami Herald columnists, like Hiaasen, who believes convicted felons should be allowed to vote.
then this, from npr:
Mr. HIAASEN: You know, Florida is never going to - it's nothing I would have to worry about. If I had magical powers - I mean, I think there - it wouldn't be a bad thing to go back to the day where there were saber tooth tigers that took care of certain members of the species.
SAGAL: Oh, I see what you mean.
Mr. HIAASEN: You know, I mean - I think as you drive around, the more you're here, you'll understand this.
SAGAL: Yeah.
(Soundbite of laughter)
Mr. HIAASEN: There are times when you wish that the saber tooth tigers were still here.
SAGAL: Really?
Mr. HIAASEN: I'm just going to leave it at that." Take Badlaw's body out to the gold-mine 'n toss it down a shaft. "

Any thing on topic? I've noticed you've been trolling a lot lately. Are we sure this is Reef and his account wasn't hacked?

Reef is a straight party hack methinks. Any normal person would be all for testing the legislators.
Of course it would need to be a surprise test because coke is out of your system in a few days while pot can be there for a month.Be Impeccable with Your Word

I never thought of that, actually. If drug tests are pretty much the norm to get hired for even the most pointless and deadened jobs around, like McDonald's or Wal-Mart, then why aren't they ordered for the job of representing millions of U.S. citizens from your seat in the Shining City on the Hill?
Good point about the surprise tests and the coke. Only rich people can afford the good stuff anymore.

turn me on dead man, turn me on dead man, turn me on dead man...
Huh? Coke is in hair-folicles for months. I didn't say don't test lawmakers... I have zero probs testing welfare peeps. Everybody else gets tested, pretty-much. What makes them exempt? We're using our money to test if welfarians can be trusted with being irresponsible with our money." Take Badlaw's body out to the gold-mine 'n toss it down a shaft. "

A urinalysis is the most common form of drug testing used, and in it, coke, speed, meth, ect, doesn't show up after 24-48 hours. The same is true of hallucinogens.
I do not know about how those products show up the mouth swab.
The hair does show everything for quite a while back, but those tests are a lot more expensive!Last edited by Nu Kua; Oct 1st, 2011 at 10:31 AM.

I think Reef needs to be tested lol.... you have no problem wasting money on drug tests? Do you think most welfare recipients are on drugs reef? I'll bet if we tested for booze they would be.... but they never test for that do they? Do you have any idea what it costs to drug test? Of course the drug companies that run the testing have some paid off friends working for them in the legislature... not that anyone stands to make money off of mass testing of people or that there would be any corruption from the corporate pigs in our policy making.... wake the fuck UP!
I thought you were against wasting money reef? Drug tests are a waste of money. So If you do find out the welfare mom smoked a joint 3 weeks ago what do you do to her? Toss her out in the street and tell her her kids don't get to eat now? Or were you planning on having the state take care of her kids? Yeah its their fault she smoked a joint 3 weeks ago so they should all starve and die for it right?Be Impeccable with Your Word

I've already lost a job-of-10-years because I tested for 15 nanograms of THC... That's 15-billionths-of-gram!. I have big-time problems with wasting money on them. I suspect I have way more problems than you with it. So if I have to comply with 15-billionths-of-a-gram, at the loss of a $15.00-an-hour career, I wanna make sure everybody else does.
I woke-up that day. 15-billionths-of-a-gram... an ounce is 28-grams.... that's a 10-year-career, at $15.00 an hour, gone. Where was the internet in 1996? Do I know how much a drug-test costs? For me, you mean? $320,000.00.wake the fuck UP!

Is that the difference between a conservative and a liberal? I hear your story and I don't want anyone else to suffer but you want every one to suffer... real nice and compassionate dude.
So your response to being wronged is to support more bullshit drug testing? The entire industry is a big fucking scam designed to bust pot smokers and let the other real drug addicts off.
The drugs that do the most damage to society are alcohol and prescription drugs.... these tests dont really look for that crap they want the dude that smoked a bowl last weekend... Obviously a real danger to us all those pot smokers!!!
Then you dont know a god damn thing about me Reef.... stop assuming Im exactly what the Rush Limbaugh's and Bill ORellys say I am. Oh one is a drunk and the other has a problem with pills lets test those assholes too..... or lets not bother testing anyone who inst flying a plane or doing brain surgery.... even better.I am. Freud can explain it better than me... the entire concept of drug-testing for weed, was to nail me specifically. Then I stood before a State-judge, representing myself (at a cost of another $2,500.00). So, yeah, my natural reaction is that everybody should be tested. I didn't say everybody should 'suffer'. In welfarian-cases, courts will order them to return 'clean' to the next testing-session. Test 'clean', bop out into the parkinglot 'n light-up.
I sold weed on a large scale (no pun intended) in the 70's and 80's... Houston, Honolulu, Jackson Mississippi, Jacksonville Florida, so I'm also looking at it from a dealer's perspective." Take Badlaw's body out to the gold-mine 'n toss it down a shaft. "

Judge halts drug tests as condition of Florida payments
So there we are.Florida will not be allowed to require applicants for cash assistance to needy families to pass a drug test before receiving payments, a federal judge ruled on Monday.
In a 37-page ruling, U.S. District Court Judge Mary Scriven in Orlando granted an injunction barring the state from enforcing the new law until the case is resolved.
The lawsuit was filed by the American Civil Liberties Union of Florida on behalf of a University of Central Florida student who refused to take the test when he applied for Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, a federal program that provides cash assistance to families with children.
In her ruling, Scriven said the testing procedure could cause irreparable harm to recipients.
Judge Scriven said that an injunction would protect recipients from any harm to their constructional rights while the case is heard...."The Alice-in-Wonderland nature of this pronouncement is not lost on me..."

Drug use should be considered the same as alcohol use. If you show up to work drunk, then you have a problem. If the alcohol has cleared the system, so to speak, then all is well, even if you have a headache. The same should be the case for drug use in 99% of the jobs in the US.

I say implement it only if everytime the tax assessor comes to your property to re-value your property, you can require the same. You can't raise my taxes until you take a drug test.
Whenever Congress decides to give a tax credit to a multi billion dollar corporation, both Congress and the Board of Directors...pee in the cup please.
Whenever a financial derivative is bought or sold, we the people shall give new meaning to the phrase..."Whiz Kids".
The next time a company decides to ship it's manufacturing operations overseas to cut costs, it's weiner floppin time, we'll pay for the cup.
Whenever a lawmaker states in public, that people without jobs, food, and the means to get them are spending their non-existent money on drugs. That lawmaker not only has to pee in the cup, but he has to drink it too.

True... but the same idea goes. If someone wants to get boozed up or smoke a joint, I am not saying I agree with them, but then that is their business. If you remove assistance from fucked up families, what happens to the kids? At least there is a chance the parents with the vices will give the necessary nurishment to their kids if the assistance is there. By removing the assistance, the kids face a much tougher ordeal... and possibly a far more dangerous one at that.
