While the woman is obviously less intelligent than your average adult, it is a shame those kids are living in such poor conditions... but then I would venture to say that other children in many places around the world have it much worse. Florida should be looking to educate that woman. Call it an investment, but she needs someone to help her out not only financially to keep those kids out of the system at a future date, but also to lift her up out of dependence from a jailed father of 10 of her kids who cannot provide.

Sell em' all off to rich Chinese couples. Then at least we here in the U.S. can't be blamed for their lot in life.
The new Karate Kid movie shows us that they will all be fine in China so long as they are simply true to themselves.
Hell, ship off the factory that made em too. The Chinese can have that one for all I care. Just don't ship any future products here.

So we need to re-integrate a comprehensive and frank sexual education back into our schools, with a strong emphasis on birth control and social and personal responsibility.

I have three kids and a good job and can barely afford them. At what point do you not realize that maybe you have too many? Do you even think to yourself "how am I going to support these kids?" Does it really take 15 times to figure it out? People are so damn stupid.

Isn't that a tad socialist for you?
Also, "educating" ONE woman will not solve this more than rampant problem, but I think you're on the right track, morally speaking. People need to be taught a better way.
Unfortunately, I suspect many here believe eliminating all welfare and aid to feed and cloth children like this is the best way to "solve" this problem (and of course, it will, but not in the way they envision: rather it will solve it by something akin to genocide, as half the kids starve- certainly there is a better way to do it than to cut off the foot to spite the leg)."I was put on trial twice near Y2K for acting like Jesus and claiming to be the Messiah. But you know there are many couples that are part of the quiver full movement. They have gobs of children too and are usually just one disaster away from disaster as well. Guess who picks up the pieces? What the fuck is the point in having that many children?
I am not sure what this woman was doing before badydaddy x10 got locked up, but how do these parents plan for an absent parent "Death, jail, whatever" when you have 15 or more children to care for? It's not reasonable to assume one person can parent that many children without some serious assistance. So unless you are a multi millionaire, lets try and keep the litter down in size.
Personally I am starting to become more of the mindset that this really in not the best time to be having children anyways, but it is a personal choice. When you start popping them out like crazy it becomes a selfish choice." Flags are bits of colored cloth that governments use first to shrink-wrap people's brains and then as ceremonial shrouds to bury the dead." Arundhati Roy

Speaking strictly financially, it makes better monetary sense. Money spent on education and birth control would naturally be far less than what would be spent supporting the children of irresponsible parents.
The children are the innocents here. It would be terrible to not feed, house, and cloth them, even if that is fucked up because then society 'pays' for the sins of the parents. (by sins I mean, the sin of irresponsibility to children you bring into the world.)

It's just messed up. My heart goes out to all those children who share the same fate. What awaits them? Being shunned by society and resented by many... getting a very hard start in life. Where are angels when you need them.
I agree. That a women, or a couple, would even want to have 10 or 15 children in this day and time speaks a lot about their lack of realism, too. How sane could you be to want so many kids?
