HERE is the rest of the piece. Should get you started off in the right direction. In mathematics and physics, chaos theory deals with the behaviour of certain nonlinear dynamical systems that (under certain conditions) exhibit the phenomenon known as chaos, most famously characterised by sensitivity to initial conditions (see butterfly effect). Examples of such systems include the atmosphere, the solar system, plate tectonics, turbulent fluids, economies, and population growth.

Moved this one to science....

Chaos theory is basically the theory of dynamical systems in which small starting deviations are magnified greatly as time goes on

How does that chaos theory saying go?
'If a butterfly flaps it's wings in Japan, a hurricane occurs in the USA'???
Or something along those lines...~Evil Will~
I'm not evil, just morally challenged.

Haha that's how the saying goes, but I believe that it's a bit of an exaggeration. However, it is a good example of chaos theory, because a butterfly flapping it's wings is a very, very (on the scales we are talking about, it could be considered infinitesimal) small, but it causes a huge change...

The Butterfly Effect in Chaos Theory is easist compared to basic cause and effect. Every action has a reaction and that reaction can be something as small as the action or almost the flipside of the coin - something catestrophic.
Another example would be the result of a certain group of atoms colliding to create nuclear fusion. Something as small as a cluster of atoms can trigger the birth of a star. However, it is a good example of chaos theory, because a butterfly flapping it's wings is a very, very (on the scales we are talking about, it could be considered infinitesimal) small, but it causes a huge change...
It also follows the logic that we can't predict everything like science tells us we can, because there are too many factors in the universe to take into consideration when making a prediction. We may be able to make a basic prediction, but never detailed predictions. There will always be some level of chaos, or uncertainty.
