Apparently taking a dip in the Dead Sea and swimming with dolphins are also great, or so I've heard.

Why does classic homeopathy "work"?!? Why should some toxic, of which a drop is dissolved in 60 swimmingpools of water work?!?

Personally I don't care about the "why". I'm a pragmatician. If it works, it works.

I'm with Dutchie on this one...if it works for you, who am i to question it.
Normally i would be all for trying this. I hate taking medicine. Putting chemicals into my body just doesnt seem healthy, and sitting in radon...uhh yea ill pass on that treatment. But if it helps some people then right on...seems like an easy enough way to rid pain.

The holistic approach is an old one. The use of natural remedies were around long before the pills and syrups and shots. Faith healings are also a strange thing, it centers upon the power of the mind in using the positive thoughts and energies to heal the body. I have seen this work in an old friend who had cancer, she tried the doctor prescribed treatments and the cancer spread quickly. she tried faith healing for a month and some of the cancer had shrunk and others had disappeared, and the cancer growth stopped and went to the reverse some. sadly she passed, she couldnt handle the pain and radiation any longer.

There is a natural way to heal everything naturally caused.
Aspirin originally came from tree bark and flowers, til a chemist synthesized it.

The link automatically updates so I couldnt read the article. Im posting off the top so to speak.

In addition to what Raven posted, all forms of medicine were historically based on and derived from holistic medicine, which was the original.

Where Western medicine is invasive, holistic or natural medicine takes into account a persons entire being and looks to the root causes of what might make one ill. In western medicine most root causes are left to researchers to discover and figure out.

For example, ephedra which has been used for thousands of years and is now illegal in many states. Originally and holistically, the plant or root it comes from was used. Therefore the natural balance was maintained and side effects were non-existant. Yet, western medicine isolated it and put it into production thus stripping away what natural protections it had, and it killed people.

Aspirin came from willow bark. Indians would chew the bark and the pain would subside with no effects to stomach lining such as we have now.

I'm not too sure if this guy is legit or not but if true, it seems the mind may be capable of healing ... this guy apparently is training people to do the same. It would truly be a wonderful thing if possible !

I am a fervent believer in the power of the untapped ability of self to cure whatever ails us within our Minds. Everything that we need is available from Planet Earth. The problem begins with the synthesizing of drugs to treat the symptom and not the Cause. Also, within the person is a blatant disregard to how they lead their lives and what they put into their bodies for fuel. Fast food joints and the need to feel better, directs people to unhealthy practices in their youth. The feeling of being invincible as we experience the prime portions in life, catch up with the mind and body as life winds down.

I read that attachment, Marg, and people such as Adam do exist.

If anyone cares to investigate the properties of the "Grape", investigate a book called "The Grape Cure", Much has been written on the amazing berry and I have personally experienced its remarkable effects. It isn't easy to practice, but the results are life changing.

I without a doubt, do believe in them myself DMW, I just get a 'bit' sussed when I see them trying to make a dollar out of it. I guess it stems from my own persona whereby if I had some ability to heal, I would do it for the benefit of humanity, not for the benefit of my wallet.

Although in the same token, to be in demand such as they are, it may impose a financial strain ...

I did a bit of a looksy up on your grape cure and find it very interesting. If you don't mind me asking, what was it that you had that this cure helped ?

I only ask in that one day, *touch wood*, if I ever have some life threatening illness such as cancer, I would rather go down these 'alternate' paths than chemo. After seeing how sick and withdrawn my sister was, I hoped 'never' to get anything like it. She did survive however and is in great health now, but to endure such sickness is beyond me (I think).

On another note, over the last 5 years or so I think I have been sick once with what could be called a 2 day flu. I think I attribute this to keeping my life as simple as possible, and with as little stress as possible. Undoubtedly stress plays a very important role in our health and after all, this is a mental thing isn't it. It only makes sense that the mind, in certain individuals, is able to control and maybe even reverse(heal) these aspects and effects which control our health.

Holistic medicine always reminded me of ballistic medicine, which is a name I created for the means of solving medical problems with a bullet.

This intelligence speaks volumes. The only solving the bullet does is removing from the gene pool any specimen that doesnt have brain cells fit to reproduce. There is much to be said for holistic medicine. I hope you never have to, but if you do maybe someday you may have the opportunity to reap some benefit from it.

It stopped amazing me a long time ago at how closed minded people are to alternative medicines. Yet these same people will swallow any pill an MD hands them without question.

Alternative methods are making there way into the mainstream, though.

Yes, that is a great book. People do need to watch out on the goldenseal though. People with tendancy for allergies have also been sensitive to it as well.

you are 100% correct, no one should use herbs casually, they should be treated as pharmaceuticals
