I don't particularly like the links, but now that I think about it, a disaster ticker at the bottom is very appropriate for armageddononline.org.

I've had 0 problems with it. No slow down, and when I accidentally click it instead of reply, it doesn't open in that window but a different one so all I gotta do is click the x and bam, gone. So what's the big deal?

I found a way to move it and make it really small so you can only see the icons.

I might not have had an issue with it back in the day when I had an awesomely awesome cable internet connection that was faster than lightening and more powerful than... well something mighty powerful, I don't know, but now that I am on a shared wireless connection thingy, ads and such on sites slow me down to a screeching halt. I understand and certainly appreciate the need to make $$ and to get people connected to the site, but alas, if I want to visit AO at all, I have to disable that bar. Plus, it is distracting,too. So away it went...
