Jon Stewart "Cockblock the Vote" by the GOP

There is, of course, voter ID laws like in Pennsylvania, where voters must present photo ID in order to vote. The law is supposed to prevent voter fraud, but it disproportionately affects minorities and senior citizens. But only ten cases of voter fraud have come up since 2000, Stewart said. "It's like how peanut butter is made with huge amounts of hydrochloric acid to dissolve any potential dragon bones that may have gotten into in the manufacturing process," Stewart said. "Will you lose some people who die by eating hyrochloric acid? Of course. But isn't worth know that your peanut butter is dragon bone free?"

Meanwhile in Ohio, Secretary of State Jon Husted tried to restrict early voting times in Democratic counties while keeping them long in Republican ones. Husted said that voting laws were easy enough for people who cared, that the state couldn't be like a 7-Eleven. "Surely we can't expect our constitutionally guaranteed voting rights to meet the same high standards as a combination gas station, convenience store," Stewart joked. Luckily, national outcry made Ohio change the rules. "And I would've gotten away with it too!" Stewart said, pretending to be Husted. "If it weren't that meddling Constitution."
Amazing how the GOP tried banning blacks from voting in Ohio but oops, got caught. Why, how dare those ebil kneegrows expect voting booths and times like the good wholesome white people get!
And yet the GOP, Jena, Reef, so forth will deny it was racist to make it illegal for blacks to vote in Ohio.

Some Americans like the idea of being able to just claim they are someone else and be able to vote. Personally, I have no problem with voter ID or Social Security ID or Welfare ID or Unemployment ID. Like there is no fraud in any of those programs?

You're a proven liar and propaganda artist. Why should anyone ever believe anything you say?

The GOP never attempted to ban blacks from voting in Ohio.

Your claims are based on Weasel Words that omit pertinent facts. This a typical example:

"This could disproportionately impact African-American voters, who are more likely to use in-person early voting to cast their ballot, and are more numerous in the urban counties affected."

    http://thegrio.com/2012/08/15/how-ea...-black-voters/

"Could." That's a Weasel Word. "This could disproportionately impact..." and "This will disproportionally impact...." do not mean the same thing. And what evidence is presented to support claims that Blacks would be affected at all, much less "disproportionately impacted?"

    No evidence whatsoever is offered.

Given that you are the least competent propaganda and disinformation artist, it comes as no surprise that you don't understand that voting is not "Free." Voting costs money. It costs money to keep polling precincts open, and in case you haven't heard, many States are experiencing sever economic distress and a lack of revenues. If State and local governments are laying off employees like teachers, cops, fire-fighters, etc then why in the hell would any intelligent, sane, rational person believe that States have money to keep the polls open at all different special odd hours? Go here...

    http://www.dailyjobcuts.com/

....and look at the number of State and local government jobs that are being lost....uh, you know, because like, you know, States don't have any money.

Now if you and the fucktard Jon Stewart want to pony up some money to keep the polling precincts open beyond normal hours, then either do that or stop bitching.

This is another NAZI propaganda claim....

There is, of course, voter ID laws like in Pennsylvania, where voters must present photo ID in order to vote. The law is supposed to prevent voter fraud, but it disproportionately affects minorities and senior citizens.

The claim once again uses the standard NAZI Herr Josef Göbbels buzz-word -- "disproportionately" yet it offers not even one single shred of evidence to support such claims.

Any person is obtain any federal benefit like SSI, SSDI, OASI, Food Stamps, TAN-F, ADC, Medicaid, Medicare, WIC etc etc etc has a State-issued identification card, whether it is a driver's license or a dedicated State ID.

So how are people "disproportionately" affected by being required to possess something that they already possess?

Where in the US can you cash an SSI, SSDI, OASI or ADC check without identification?

The truth? I'll tell you the truth that know one else will say.

The people affected here are those who are flying under the radar to avoid prosecution. I'm talking about:

1] The guy or (gal) who owes back child-support. His driver's license/State ID ("ID") has expired. He cannot renew it, because when he shows up at the BMV/DMV or other agency to get it, he'll be arrested.

2] The person with the unpaid traffic tickets -- they can't renew either until they pay the fines

3] The person who has unpaid moving violation and failed to either pay the fine or show up in court -- they have a bench warrant out for their arrest, so no, they cannot show up at the DMV/BMV.

4] The person who got cited for a minor misdemeanor for open container, possession of drugs/drug paraphernalia, drunk and disorderly or whatever and they failed to show in court.

5] The same person above who did appear, but hasn't yet paid the fine, or failed to show for sentencing.

6] A person with a minor felony arrest who got released on bail and then failed to show --- arrest warrant issued

7] A person with a minor felony arrest who appeared for trial, got bail continued, but then failed to appear for the sentencing hearing -- arrest warrant issued.

Those are the wonderful outstanding citizens who are being "disproportionately" affected (snicker) by voter ID laws.

I'm glad we got that straightened out.

This is the cure for space fungus, a disease that doesn't exist. The voter fraud in the us comes from those who count the vote not from those who cast them.

They are still required to have a State Identification Card so that they can cash their Social Security checks, or use their credit cards at Wal*Mart, and do many other things.

Dialing 2-1-1 on your phone, a free call, will connect you to government and private social service organizations who will pay the fee for your driver's license or State ID card, and they will also transport them to bureau of motor vehicles to obtain a State ID card.

Wow, a whole "payment of a fee of three dollars and fifty cents, may be issued a temporary identification card"

    http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/4507.51

You haven't presented any evidence to support your lying claims. All you've done is whine.

    Total fail.

What is the Statute of Limitations on Frauds? That varies from State-to-State -- but one thing is certain in all 50 States and that is the Statute of Limitations does not start until the fraud is discovered.

Who on this forum would like to know why?

Because, um, frauds by their very nature are extremely difficult if not impossible to uncover.

If you peruse State and federal law digests, you'll see where frauds committed 30-40-50-60 years ago have just recently been discovered/uncovered and there is criminal or civil action being taken.

Get it? Sometimes it takes a really, really, really long time to discover a fraud. And if people are voting in Florida, and then voting by absentee ballot in their home States of New York, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana or Illinois, that is fraud. Students who live in other cities/States but vote here in Cincinnati and then vote by absentee ballot in their home city/State are committing fraud.

They ain't exactly walking around with t-shirts that say, "I Went To Florida And All I Got Was This Lousy Florida Butterfly Ballot And An Absentee Ballot From My Home State."

But, hey, Bob thinks that is perfectly okay - you know -- typical Libtard stuff -- "Do as I say, not as I do," and the old hypocritical Double-Standard with the pigs are walking because some people are obviously more equal than others and for them to get to vote twice while everyone else only gets to vote once is wonderful.

Legally, voting is a privilege, just like driving a car, and you have no Constitutional authority to vote. Your voting privileges are granted by the State, who may enact whatever requirements they see fit, provided that the it does not discriminate based on race or gender. So if the State says the polls are only open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Election Day, then that is the State's constitutional right, and you just have to take it. If the State says you need some form of identification, then that's just the way it is. And if the State says you need photo ID, then so be it.

"On September 5, the current Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, Democrat, issued a directive that undeliverable mail was not sufficient to remove voters from the rolls saying she considered the 2006 law unconstitutional and also that every challenged voter must be notified and given a chance to attend a hearing before Election Day."

That is evidence of attempted voter fraud. The race-traitor Uncle Tom Mau-Mau spear-chucking lawn-jockey porch-monkey Republican J. Kenneth Blackwell is the one who pushed for passage of that law, and Democrats threw a shit-fit and finally got it overturned.

    The story so far......

.....a "voter" registers using a certain mailing address......the Republican Ohio Secretary of State Blackwell mails notification to the "voter's" address via registered mail, return receipt requested.....the United States Postal Service says no such address exists.......Bob says there's no voter fraud and then Democrat Jennifer Brunnerdumbitch the new SOS says the fact that no such address exists is not reason to remove the name of a voter who claimed to live at a non-existent address and she's not going to comply with the law.

I don't think Judy Woodruff and Travis Smiley will be asking people to 'video their vote' this year, like they did in '08.

Everybody I saw interviewed was primarily worried about jobs then, with national unemployment at 5%. Now the hope is that we change back to those 2008 numbers.

I never said there was no voter fraud, what I imply is that the fraud from vote casters is insignificant compared to the vote counters. But of course you tu-tu wearing, underware sniffing, golden corral eating, booger-rolling, turd admiring, conservahomotards are far too stupid to understand the intricacies of english.

There have been 10 cases of voter fraud
    http://www.bradblog.com/?p=9481
Analysis of the resulting comprehensive News21 election fraud database turned up 10 cases of voter impersonation. With 146 million registered voters in the United States during that time, those 10 cases represent one out of about every 15 million prospective voters.

10 cases. 10 cases of in-person voter impersonation that might have been deterred by polling place Photo ID restrictions --- restrictions which, according to study after study, could keep as many as 22 million perfectly legal eligible voters from being able to cast their legal vote.

But, again, the Republicans who have been enacting these laws are doing it for exactly that reason: to keep those who are most likely to lack the type of state-issued Photo ID required to vote under these new restrictions --- the elderly, minorities, the poor and students (read: Democratic-leaning voters) --- from being able to cast their legal vote.

I do not have a problem with voter ID. Most countries do it.

I have a problem, however, with some states suspiciously pushing for them immediately before elections.

There have been 10 cases of voter fraud in 12 years. The GOP have tried to make it illegal for blacks and poor people to vote in several key swing states. They were caught in Florida and the DOJ had to point out the little law passed in 1964 that made what the GOP was doing illegal. And then they were caught again in Ohio.
