I voted no, because "big stuff" has been happening since I can remember. During the 90s it was other stuff (y2k, Iraq weapon threats, India/Pakistan, etc...).

I know "end of the world" is a figure of speech, but as humans are so self centered, there is no such thing as "the end of the world", unless we had a gamma ray, hypernova or our sun blown up, but what were talking about is the end of civilization.. and yes i believe that will come to us very soon, we are seeing more and more signs every day, the activity of natural disasters is increasing at an extraordinary rate and it will only heighten more and then it will be every man for himself.. if our government does have us in camps by then..

God I love this comment: "I know "end of the world" is a figure of speech, but as humans are so self centered, there is no such thing as "the end of the world", unless we had a gamma ray, hypernova or our sun blown up, but what were talking about is the end of civilization.. "

You're right...this world cannot end...and the WORLD is not the universe...planets can end, but life goes on...somehow. And it ties in to faith and science...there will always be life...somehow. Humans may die, who knows...but something else will come along and make a home for itself...

    Hi

I think that the end of the world comes to everyone - the world ends for everyone some day as we all die of course, however, the world itself will go on in some form or another.

I think we are killing the earth as we know it and altering its patterns which in turn will alter the life upon it, some people will be wiped out over the years and the ones that survive will evolve into something different - but this has been happening for millions of years. I think a possible ice age may occur - but of course not in our lifetime. I think mankind will eventually create a plan-B for itself and perhaps even find a new planet to live on.

You seem more paranoid and strange every time you post. Remember Aussie Bloke?

Natural disasters that have occured will have nothing to do with the end of the world. Hurricanes and Tsunamis and such cannot end the world. Also, the government putting people into camps is only a reality in video games (in the USA). Creating a police state with the amount of fire arms in the USA would be near impossible.

Well stewey, its a matter of simple denial of facts and events put in front of your face.. Our planet is becoming less stable every day, in more ways than one, even within our own race. If you completely disregard war, tsunami, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, MANY (generally small) meteorites, extreme weather that is getting crazier every year, many reports of people finding strange "concentration or death camps" equipped with crematoriums and rail cars labeled with FEMA on the side and shackles in them(do a search on google for "concentration camps US), increased solar activity on a dangerous level, and every year we have more gun restrictions in the US..

Now you can deny these facts to make yourself feel more warm and cozy with the world and the human race, but what your ignoring is that this planet is crawling with overpopulation, its going to get worse, UNLESS society collapses in on itself or the planet takes care of it itself. One way or another something will "thin the numbers" so to speak..

Ever heard of the Georgia Guidestone? Well check it out..

    2. Guide reproduction wisely - improving fitness and diversity.
    3. Unite humanity with a living new language.

    5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
    6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.

Last time i checked our population was around 6.5 billion or more? Hmm dont you think the Illuminati will have to take care of that little imbalance? As i just reread your post, you used the quote "end the world". I ALREADY stated as you saw in the quote you posted, that i said the world CAN NEVER END from such events!! And i will also state this, most LIKELY, humans will never cease to exist alltogether unless this WORLD DOES END.. as from a sun exploding or the such.. but civilization INDEED CAN END from natural disasters, its a scientific fact..

WE ARE! ! ! !We’ll all be long dead and lil ol’ Earth still here. . . .

Just think, if there are aliens out there watching us, they have a damn good reason to not make contact with us, shit, we can’t even get along with each-other let alone a higher advanced species from another universe. . . . . gee, is that the truth or what?

Every generation of man has thought theirs would be the one to see the end. Some got it right when there were upheavals that ended the world. Most have gotten it wrong and there is nothing to say that ours might not be the generation to see the end, it could be the next, or the one after that.

Yep, it has been "the end of times" for centuries now. I wouldn't expect any world ending events anytime soon, but heck, if you want to worry about it, go ahead.

I could not agree more. Worry about things we have direct control over; like sending help to Tsunami victims. Their world ended several weeks ago.

I predict we have another 3 billion years ahead of us, before the sun decides it's time to turn into a red giant and eats us (fried to a crisp) for breakfast..

I have a question about the sun turning into a red giant. Will it literally eat earth, or it will come so close that earth will be too hot to sustain life?

It's just that more now than EVER, . .

. . .The events necessary to cause all of these seperate problems and issues of mankind could possibly coalesce into a form of disaster heretofore unknown [and], once begun with a catalyst, create a 'chain' of events that would be as a self-sustaning 'engine-of-destruction', which would seem as unstoppable. Though I believe 'mankind' could never be 'completely eradicated', MUCH work needs to be done to address these problems.

. . .The "Georgia Guidestones" (maybe) very telling in what may lay ahead for us, YES, EOWTAWKI maybe upon us. Only time and events can answer THAT. . .

    Maybe yes, maybe no.

If "the end of the world" is the fault of man whiping out another, technically the world obviously hasn't ended guys....

Also, the end of mankind for the matter is possible in the days ahead. Slowly more deadly events can add up and cause alot of death. Natural disasters, diseases, a massive nuclear war which then can add to famine, starvation. Its all possible but I'd rather have these real potential events kept in our little fantasies and discussions.

I think it would be much sooner,no not in our lifetimes, maybe thousands of years later, but humans are devoted to destroy themselves, and no matter what Stephen Hawking in his books says that humans will become moire human, you can't just wipe out the animal in yourself-before humans evolved they were monkeys, also there is unbeatable nature, sure we're talking about the beauty of the nature, but nature is equally cruel to all living beings on Earth, only man can't see it because of the high-tech made humans lazy. The way I see how will humans be destroyed is by earthquakes, volcanic eruptions could make this planet colder for about 10 years than what,we actually forget how vulnerable we're.Because that super-extremely small level of toughness and ability to destroy our own species,I just can't see surviving the nest 4.5 billion years when the sun utterly destroys our entire small planet that we call Earth.

"A lot of Stuff" has always "happened" and always will happen. In 1883 some people in Indonesia/Java thought that Krakatoa was a sign of the end of the world. 122 years later, and we're all still here.
