Prophesy about Jesus?
Isaiah 14
Prophesy about jesus ?
He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth.
The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.
Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.
Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?
Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.
But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.
Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.
Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.
Compare with Revelation 22:16

Isaiah is talking about Satan: "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground..."
or he could have been talking about the king of Babylon (which could be one in the same)
-----------------------------------
Revelation 22:16“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you [yall] this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”
-there is NO comparison.

No individual can Know what the Bible means...(2 Peter 1-20: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
2 Peter 3-16: As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
2 Peter 3-16: As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
The Bible is a tool Given to the CHURCH by God to more effectively spread the Gospels. When were the Gospels written(that is the ORAL Traditions about Christ put on paper) the Gospel of Mark which was written in 65 AD, the Gospel of Matthew, written in 80 AD, then Luke written in 85 AD, and lastly the Gospel of St John written in 90 AD
These writings were not compiled for all christianity till 398 almost 4 centurys after Christ. It is, was, and always will be the Church and the Church alone who is Authorised to define the meanings of the Bible
"We are compelled to concede to the Papists that they have the Word of God, that we received it from them, and that without them we should have no knowledge of it at all." Martin Luther

I do not believe this statement AT ALL. Christ gave sermons to thousands of people about the new covenant and the comming of the Kingdom of God LONG before He sent out His desciples to preach the good news. God may have used the church as a tool (to write and compile the gospels), but the recipient of that gospel, whether by word or by print is nothing less than the entire world.
If it was a tool given to the church, then why is the Bible sold all over the world... to anyone that wants a copy. Even the Gideons put them in Hotel rooms for people to read. The Bible, which is the Word of God, is for every living soul and is only here and available to all because that is the will of God.

Autry you misunderstand what I was saying..the tool was given to the Church...then the Church dispersed it to the world....how can you argue with that?

Question
I'm not trying to insult anyone, but how do you know the Church didn't get it wrong? What if how they interpreted it is different then what it really means?

The only prophecies about JESUS that have yet to come true is when he comes back at the battle of armageddon and destroys the evil arrayed against him and rules for 1000 years.
There is only one thing indespensible for everytrhing we do; that is the spirit. Without it we can do nothing.

Mar 8th, 2005 2:08 AM #11AntonyGuestTry the very popular writings of Joseph Ben Mathias who lived in the time of Yeshua= Jesus. His writings were kept in some of our finest colleges. "Antiquities of the Jews".I have yet to see a prophecy fail in the bible.Jesus the suffering Messiah is spoken of in the prophecies. Your statement is honest, but the best way to find out is to ask him.
