How much does anyone believe that the Virgin Mary reall was a virgin impregnated with the Son of God? Or would it be easier to think that she and Joseph had sex, and concieved a child?

In the late 1990's (about 98 or 99) the Vatican stomped the Jesuits flatter than hammered shit because of a revised translation that the Jesuits discovered.

In short, it was proof that the term used to describe Mary wasn't Virgin but something else.

The term Gravita is used (Latin) to decribe how many times a woman has been pregnant. It only deals with that specificaly, not how many children she's had, only how many times she's been pregnant.

There was a term used to decribe the Mother of the Messiah in an old text which, when researched, translated loosely as, "Having Not Conceived A Child."

This does not imply Virginity, only that Mary hadn't been pregnant yet.

The worship of mary is to worship an idol which god forbids people to do. U tell me were in the bible it says we should praise or worship idols, wake up, look at the so called religous statues there are. Many bow and praise these images and statues as if they were the real christ, mary or a saint. God himself says in his second commandment do not make any graven images of God or that is in the water under the earth ,beneath the earth, and the heavens. Now mary was a virgin for why would God allow a holy king to be born of a sinister act like sex, we all should know that christ was not only flesh but divine, God is a Eternal spirit not flesh as these pictures portray him to be. All flesh corrupted their way to earth, man is sinful but not the son of god, so why would the Christ of God be born of corruption, do u ever wonder why women go through so much pain when they are in labor, in the book of genesis it says women shall bring forth children through pain because of mans sins, don't get me wrong, Im not trying to say once u have sex u are certain to go to the eternal flames, Im just saying the act of sex is a defilement of the spirit and heart, if u don't believe me then read this part from the book of Revelation 14:4. I believe in Jesus as the Christ (Messiah - Savior of man), also in God as our only Father. I also believe that Mary was a virgin (woman of virtue and favored highly by God)... but whether that means without child or had not had sex, it is immaterial because Jesus was (and is) still the Christ.

The purity of His entrance into our physical world is not in question, because it was our Fathers' plan that Jesus was born into humble surroundings to show everyone that He was not above us, but one of us. He ate with the tax collectors (who were despised at the time) and taught the Gospel to prostitutes and all others of lowly position to show us that He didn't come to our world to just save the noble born and those of high status, but everyone.

Also, sex is not a sinister act, but a gift given to man (and woman) from God:

When God tells Adam and Eve to be fruitful, He is telling them to have sex. Also, it says God BLESSED them.... to be able to have offspring is to be blessed, and to have offspring you have to have sex.

Also, God created us, that is, He made us the way we are... and sex feels good... therefore God made sex to feel good. I can't see how God would make sex feel good if we weren't supposed to do it.

Now, are we supposed to cling to only one other??? Yes
Are husbands supposed to love their wives like Christ loves the church??? Yes
Are men supposed to only have sex with their wife (and not another woman or a man)??? Yes

As far as I'm concerned, Mary was just a $2 dollar street whore that latched onto the guy that got her pregnant.

Immaculate conception? What a load of bollocks. In the real world we deal with the possible, the impossible and the unknown. Last time I checked immaculate conception is what we would label under impossible.

So, we have some bastard kid that grows up to be a pretty good guy and a few people have seen 'angels' on their opium induced hallucinations and the sort, prophecising he will be the saviour.

After running around not really hurting anyone, the Romans get sick of his crap and execute him, as Romans do. So Jesus is dead and the christian followers need a reason why their messiah was just killed. And so we get the 'he died for our sins crap...'

Well, I can't say that did a lot of good. Mankind has just become even more sinful since his execution, much of it ironically being claimed to be in the name of god. He didn't die for anything save the whim of the current Roman emperor, as did many others.
