inventing god
lets say machines become intelligent
and we develope super AI ( artifical intellignences) to solve all our problems
since such machines would for all practical purposes be immortal
could they over time solve all problems in math and physics
time travel , star gates , human immortality
at what point would they start the development of a UI
Ultimate intelligence
a computer so powerful it would have to power of a god
would it then decide humans were obsolete
and elimanate the human race
just a thought

I would've done it. We are threatening this entire planet. But, since I and my mates are humans, and humans can be nice, I would never even dream of it now!
It's not the age, it's the experience that matters.

The Third Tier shadow council voted once again against creating a purely electronic deity this year. Our current project, God Alpha involves a human mind wired into a generation 10 CRAY supercomputer. We've made significant progress but as of yet not even the Gen 10 can sync properly with the human mind. We've hopes for the emerging Gen 11 Cray. Our volunteer subject, Bob Page, a plant in FEMA is very keen to be a central part of God Alpha and possibly uniting and ruling the entire planet himself.
Good luck, Bob!

Jesus GMAN, you'd pledge your allegiance to a computer generated individual?
So, let me ask you if you remember the exact moment you were brain washed?
Do you remember it? it was when you lost your FAITH.

The exact moment I was brainwashed was July 19, 1998. I don't remember many details of my former life, but I do recall men in dark suits at my door, telling me that I had been... 'selected'

Due to advances in technology, the "UI" (ultimate intelligence) would be possible. However, if it's not built to adapt to different situations, it will be outlived by the human race, as with no one controlling it other than humans, it can't afford to kill them.
If, however, it is given full ability to use all of it's infinite intelligence, it will realise that there will never be enough power on Earth to run it forever, and therefore will keep human's alive to find it additional power sources.
Artificial Life could not exist fully independant of Natural Life.So proclaims the King Bagbuss!

HAHAHA, Oh shit. Maybe you should team up with Jake99 and create a new world government. I take it the government isn't giving out enough olanzapine, is it?The exact moment I was brainwashed was July 19, 1998. As for my faith, it was surgically removed. Now I surely do wish I had trouble remembering that part of the initiation."So, it's just me, you, and J-sexy? Dibs. I call dibs on her."--Yes, the one and only Aaron
