What do you think will happen when you die?
When we all die it doesnt matter what we think because well all find out...
....Blackness, heaven/hell, alien ships or reincarnated as a toilet seat! You die and youll find out and in the end out of ALL the religons and out of all the thoeries and out of all the ideas about what happens only one of them will exist.
Lets just hope in the great words of the guy from Indiana Jones protecting the Holy Grail:
"You chose.....wisley"

AO is about one thing. Going around in loops. No one cares to learn, they only care to live inside their boxes and ignore the truth!

Well, I honestly don't know, but no one else knows either. The only way to find out is to wait and see for yourself, but even then you won't really be able to tell anyone. By the way Assassin, I love your signature.

Since there is nothing to suggest you are conscious once your brain dies, the logical assumption is that you plunge into nothingness, you are dead and gone.

For those who believe in Heaven...
As of right now, is anybody in Heaven? (except God, angels, those assumed...) We talk of dead people by saying "they're in Heaven now" or "They're in a better place" when the Bible states in several places that the dead won't go to Heaven until Judgement Day (Mt 22:30, Jn 3:13, etc). Do we sleep in the ground until the Last Day or do we go to Heaven immediately after death (assuming we've been good little earthlings
)? I'm confused!

No one will ever know. But, I think we are fishing for oranges in an apple field: We are wasting our time. We die, and that's it. Our brain stops functioning. That's it. But, that's only what I think off course.

I don't see any reason to believe that anything happens to us after we die...

I know plenty of reasons to speculate about that, Keebler:
Nothing good on TV
No buddies to hang out with
You're taking a shit, and have allready calculated how long the toilet paper roll is.
Well, unless you suffer from one of this things (hardly think the latter have occured anyone though) you are right! It's not the age, it's the experience that matters.

There will not be life after death. I plan to rig a bomb to my nervous system, wiping out the world as soon as I go.
What do you mean " is there a heaven and hell?" There won't be after my plan goes off...
Just kidding about that. No, I don't know what will happen. I don't believe any religion anymore, so I guess we may as well try and make Earth better for future generations, rather than worry about what happens to us.So proclaims the King Bagbuss!

King bagbuss, that was the best post this site has ever seen! Lets stop believing in heaven, and create heaven! If only every one share this idea...

What was it that guy said... "Heaven should be below our feet as well as above our heads".
No one ever follows that idea, actually, so it's not likely to happen. So proclaims the King Bagbuss!

I personally believe in an afterlife. I have had way too many weird experiences with 'ghosts' and such to believe otherwise.
I also believe that all living creatures go to a sort of afterlife, as again, I have had some weird experiences involving dead pets.

(kind of what king bagbuss said). You guys shouldn't dwell on death as much as you aparently do. I mean, i met this christian and he was said: "just wait until you get to the gold." By that did he mean that it doesnt matter what happens on earth, just wait till your dead. Thats not how humanity should be believing. Because just about every christian i ever met is just pretty much waiting for jugement day and the end of the world. If it was up to christians the church would still be in power and people would be spending their lives building churches and waiting to die and go to heaven. And we'd still believe the devil gives you a cold. I'm not saying thats how EVERY christian believes. But that the MAJORITY does. And christians also believe once you've excepted jesus in your heart nothing matters. You can murder or commit adultery. But you are always going to be forgiven by jesus. Because suposedly he died on the cross for you.
-
Aug 28th, 2005 2:48 AM #18This pisses me off so bad. Just because you have chosen Christianity as your religion and accepted Christ as your savior, you can't just stop there and do whatever you want. If you are going to follow Jesus then you are supposed to follow his teachings, such as to treat others as you wish to be treated. The majority of Christians I know are so hypocritical about this. Just one reason I have been glad to get away from that religion. And christians also believe once you've excepted jesus in your heart nothing matters. You can murder or commit adultery. But you are always going to be forgiven by jesus."As far as the stars are from Earth is the distance of your wonderfulness."

Aug 31st, 2005 6:51 PM #19If your suppost to be following his teaching. Then why worship HIM. Anyway....acording to Christianity it really doesnt matter that much what you do (like murder). Because you guys really DO believe that jesus died for you.....so it doesnt really matter if you lied or steal. If you want to continue this debate further. A similar thing is going on in "The Shocking Truth". Come visit sometime....

Since I believe the Holy Scriptures I know what will take place should I die.
Ecc.9:5 states that the dead know nothing.
I believe the Scriptures.
The lying religions rule over people with lies, telling them that if the die with out trusting some goofy Godman savior they will burn in hell forever.
To which I say BULL SHIT!
Now prove me wrong from the oldest Book know to mankind.

I really don't like to ever think about the word death...or dying for any matter.
Alot of time it really puts me in a panic.
Its really an unanswered question for me. I really don't believe in any sort of afterlife. (ie: reincarnation, heaven/hell, etc...)
Though I really don't like to think that when we die we cease to exist anymore. Though when it comes to religion I'm a see it to believe it kinda person, or rather a need proof to believe it kinda person.
So I'm left with the thought that I'll just die and thats the end of it.
I really wish this wasn't so. Maybe once I grow older I'll feel more comfortable with the idea.

I put heaven or hell, but I am not so sure we go there immediatly. And I do not think heaven or hell are anything like we typically think. Just another realm of existence, in another form. I definetly do believe we go on from here to something though. I just think humans have distorted what heaven and hell really are. I have all kinds of wacky ideas, but I am likely wrong as well.

not sure! but here are two possibly interesting ideas
i believe i would go to heaven, purgatory or hell but one thing really struck me:
i met a man who had a NDE (near death experience), he told me that there was nothing except darkness and that's all he remembers.
but i don't think his path was complete, as he came back to life.
i believe that if the person dieds (and isn't resuscitated for example and doesn't get a second shot at life) then their eternal path will be revealed to them (unless this is purgatory which is supposed to be temporary if you believe in such a place)
another point i wish to make:
one catholic priest claims to have been judged by jesus and mary and sent back to life. I don't know whether this man is telling the truth or not, but it is interesting.
Apparently, he was sure that he was going to hell when he saw jesus and mary, and in fact jesus (apparently) had the same view - that he should go to hell. But apparently mary argued with jesus and said that he should be given 'great graces' and sent back to earth. He was supposed to have been given another chance "to bear more fruit". he wrote this testimony on a website which i cannot remember off the top of my head.
His sins included that he was never willing to do that extra bit for people. doesn't sound like much of a sin to me, but jesus apparently didn't see it that way.
again, this is something that could be false, i just thought i'd add this in so people could reflect on the possiblity of it happening.
