So who read it, what do ya think, and how did it make u feel?

Was it predictable? Was it exciting?

I thought it was very exciting, and very very sad. She made the ending very very dramatic.

COUGH* DUMBLEDORE IS DEAD COUGH* SNAPE IS EVIL COUGH* I KNO I JUST RUINED IT FOR YOU BUT I DONT CARE* COUGH!

I thought the book was great but there is no reason for her to be killing off people every single book. Next hemionie, ron, the weaslys and everyone will die except for harry and he will die or something. And Voldermort wins!

    Rowling..STOP KILLING EVERYONES FAVORITES!

I read it too. I thought is was really good but I hated when he died. She keeps killing off all of my favorite characters!

anyone who's into Japanese Drama (not anime or hentai) will appreciate the fact that all the main characters are starting to get whacked.

and Rowling is making a point here - and that is that even the most powerful and skilled magician is powerless against the reality of reality.

I like the fact that she's doing this, so the children reading Hary Potter will feel depressed and have to think things through for themselves, they will have to work through the whole process of loss and grieving. and maybe when it happens to them for real, things might (which is a big Maybe) be smoother (if not easier) as a result of this previous experience.

and it takes away the self-gratification fantasy of being all powerful and being able to keep one's world static. Change is inevitable - death is just one of the more powerful harbingers of change.

    Go J.K. Rowling!!

But this is a book..its hard to compare dumbledore to your mother. She is trying to make it dramatic so adults read it.

but the lessons learned are still relevant - I learned to deal with the death of close fmaily members at the age of four, when they started dying off. I wasn't insulated or fed a bunch of fairy tales, I was told the unvarnished and unpleasant truth.

years later, when my dad died, I found myself referring back to those early lessons. it helped me get through.

I can't imagine what it must be like for a modern teen with no preparation for this eventuality having to face their friend or family member suddenly being 'called up to heaven by God.' I can't imagine it, but I've seen enough 'believers' suddenly questioning their faith because they weren't prepared for the reality of life and death. maybe if their parents had taken the trouble to help them reconcile the bad within the framework of life instead of just ignoring it...

but of course, I believe that people in general are capable of taking care of themselves (and the laughter I hear from the audience tells me I should re-examine my beliefs) ...
