Most tribulation believers will be martyred by the time these two serve

Revelation 12 is not a picture of the church, but of a believing mortal remnant of national Israel

Satan's beast will invade Israel and this remnant part will flee into the Jordanian wilderness for protection by the Lord

There will also be believing Israelites residing in the nations at the time and when the beast cannot reach those who flee Judea, he will hunt the balance on the earth [Matthew 24:14-15; Zechariah 14:4-5; Luke 21; Revelation 12:6; 12:14]

A very strange time on the earth for sure ..... no precedent

The battle will not only be human, but angelic in scope .... satan will be on the earth with his minions

and how is it christians have been told that the 2 witnesses = 2 individuals when the scriptures do not expressely say that (and on the opposite the whole council of God tends to say that they are 2 groups of individuals ) ?

maybe they have watched too much the "left behind series" or something ?

No wonder it is written there will be false christs and false prophets ( more than 2 ), it is certain that a part of these false prophets will think they are one of the two, because they believe that the prophets are 2 individuals when the scriptures do not even say this.
Moses himself said : "would God that all the LORD'S people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them !" (Numbers 11)
