US base off Puerto Rico's island
Well, i was just watching an argentine TV show, and there they told something weird that happend to an argentine actress, who is very famouse here. She said she went to visit an island, with a man she knew, and the pilot. At first the pilot didnt want to land, also they were flying very close to the water to avoid radar detection, but he landed. Then when they got to the island, she tried to go to the beach there, and she heard some shouts, so she turned around and saw this big animal head. She started shouting, and the other 2 men too. Then 2 US soldiers arrived, they said this was a US island where they do genetic and biological experiments, really angry, took them to an office, and then took them out of the island.
Well, i think its all BS, cuz i dont think the soldiers would tell a civilian that got there avoiding radar detection, what the goverment is doing in the island. But on the other hand, the actress, is not a person that would invent something like this up. Perhaps someone heard something like this.

Ahhh, don't be so quick to laugh my friend.
The rest of the story click here.1. The Issue
The Raytheon Corporation and United States Navy became embroiled in controversy on the Caribbean island and United States Commonwealth of Puerto Rico during the latter period of 1995. The Raytheon company had earlier recently suffered an international public relations controversy on the issue of overseas sales of similar technology to the government of Brazil. In that case bribery charges were levied against the United States-based organization following the conclusion of a sales agreement with officials of the Brazilian government. The following examines the issues and political aspects which the Puerto Rican controversy entails in terms of the defense project itself and its anti narco-trafficking intentions; the environmental concerns of ecological and agricultural damage; and the potential impact of the installation on public health in the proposed area of construction.
Who is Raytheon? Raytheon Company is a world leader in developing defense technologies and converting those technologies for use in commercial marketsLife is a Tragedy to those who feel, and a Comedy to those who think. The Coolest Link.

Here's one example of genetic engineering on Puerto Rico.
No Puerto Rican genetic post can be complete without..Puerto Rico, known for its pineapples and its world-renowned coffee crop, now has a new crop: the biotech harvest.
Much of the genetically engineered (GE) corn and soybean seed planted in the United States comes from this Caribbean island. Furthermore, Puerto Rico is also a preferred location for agricultural biotechnology experiments. According to data from the US Department of Agriculture, between 1987 and 2002, the island hosted 2,957 such experiments. This figure was surpassed only by Iowa (3,831), Illinois (4,104) and Hawaii (4,566).

My understanding is that the chupacabra first appeared in Puerto Rico, or thereabouts in the late '70s or early '80s. Chupacabras means "goatsucker" in Spanish, and they got their name because people were finding their livestock dead and exsanguinated(drained of blood).

Alrighty Coolio, I think I found something more along the lines you're looking for.
I think this is more in line on the subject. The National Caribbean Rain Forest, located in the Sierra de Luquillo, in the east of Puerto Rico, is also known by our people as "El Yunque", this after the name of the best known mountain there. The place is known for its beautiful lands-capes and lush tropical rain forest vegetation, but for many decades it has been covered by an aura of mystery, being described as a place where strange things happen, such as encounters with incredible creatures, apparent alien beings, Bigfoot type creatures, UFOs, mysterious people disappearances in the area...and in the last ten years a clear U.S. military involvement with the alien situation unfolding there. Chucacabra (spelling is off) is an ancient legend -- who knows if it exists, but there have been legends about it well before the US was even a country.
