Iran hosts 'The World without Zionism'
Link:http://www.mg.co.za/articlePage.aspx...national_news/Iran's hard-line president has called for Israel to be "wiped off the map" and said a new wave of Palestinian attacks would destroy the Jewish state, state-run media reported on Wednesday.
In a swipe at some Arab states, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also denounced attempts to recognise Israel or normalise relations with it.
"There is no doubt that the new wave [of attacks] in Palestine will wipe off this stigma [Israel] from the face of the Islamic world," Ahmadinejad told students on Wednesday during a Tehran conference called The World without Zionism.
"Anybody who recognises Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation's fury, [while] any [Islamic leader] who recognises the Zionist regime means he is acknowledging the surrender and defeat of the Islamic world," Ahmadinejad said.
Ahmadinejad also reissued the call by the founder of Iran's Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, for the destruction of Israel.
"As the imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map," said Ahmadinejad, who came to power in August and replaced Mohammad Khatami, a reformist who advocated international dialogue and tried to improve Iran's relations with the West.
Ahmadinejad referred to Israel's recent withdrawal from the Gaza Strip as a "trick", saying Gaza was already a part of Palestinian lands and the pull-out was designed to win acknowledgement of Israel by Islamic states.
"The fighting in Palestine is a war between the [whole] Islamic nation and the world of arrogance," Ahmadinejad said, using Tehran's propaganda epithet for the United States and Israel. "Today, Palestinians are representing the Islamic nation against arrogance."
Iran does not recognise the existence of Israel and has often called for its destruction.
Harsh words for Israel are common in Iran, especially at this time of year, the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. In Iran, this Friday -- the last Muslim day of prayer in the Ramadan holiday -- has been declared Quds Day, or Jerusalem Day. Rallies were slated in support of Palestinians -- and against Israel's occupation of parts of the city and other Palestinian lands.
Other Iranian politicians also have issued anti-Israeli statements, in attempts to whip up support for Friday's nationwide Quds Day demonstrations.
Harsher words
But Ahmedinejad's strident anti-Israeli statements on the eve of the demonstration were harsher than those issued during the term of the reformist Khatami and harkened back to the fiery speeches of Ayatollah Khomeini.
Ahmadinejad was a long-time member of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards, which even operates a division dubbed the Quds Division, a rhetorical reference to Tehran's hopes of one day ending Israel's domination of Islam's third-holiest city.
After his election in August, Ahmadinejad received the support of the powerful hard-line Revolutionary Guards, who report directly to supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Last year, a senior member of the Guards attended a meeting that called for and accepted applications for suicide bombers to target US troops and Israelis.
Israel has been at the forefront of nations calling for an end to Iran's nuclear programme, which the US and many others in the West say is aimed at acquiring weapons of mass destruction.
Iran says the programme is for generating electricity.
Iran announced earlier this year that it had fully developed solid fuel technology for missiles, a major breakthrough that increases their accuracy.
The Shahab-3, with a range of 1 300km to more than 1 930km, is capable of delivering a nuclear warhead to Israel and US forces in the Middle East.
Interesting developements. Keep in mind Israel has already stated it would take decisive action if Iran continues with it's nuclear program.
Now we have Syria coming under heat for the assassination of the Lebanon PM, and Iran with Syria were named as part of the axis of evil by the US. Iran and Syria have formally declared an alliance in the past years, vowing to declare war if faced with any opposition from the US/Israel.
With Bush's adminstration coming under fire, the american economy being iffy, and seemingly the Islamic world trying to coerce an war, are we heading down a dark path in the upcoming years?
This doesn't seem like the common doomsayers scenario, we all knew it would only be a matter of time before the war on terrorism escalated into something so much more dangerous, are we finally seeing the tides of the change now?"Reality is what it is, not what you want it to be."

Israel: Remove Iran from U.N.
Link:http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7...159945,00.htmlIsrael calls for Iran's removal from U.N. following Iranian president's statement regarding the destruction of Israel; accuses Iran of advocating genocide. Worldwide condemnations of Iran ensue
Ronny Sofer
Danny Gillerman, Israel’s Ambassador to the U.N., demanded that the U.N. remove Iran from the organization, following Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's declaration Wednesday that Israel should be 'wiped off the map."
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon instructed the Foreign Ministry to activate Gillerman.
The PM has been urged to respond by Vice Premier Shimon Peres, who wrote in a letter to Sharon and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom that "It is unacceptable that the leader of a state member of the U.N. advocates genocide." .
"This call goes against the U.N.'s treaty and constitutes a crime against humanity," Peres wrote.
"The words of the Iranian president are especially severe in light of Iran's attempts to develop nuclear arms and obtain long-range missiles. Israel must unequivocally demand of the U.N. and the security Council that Iran be removed from the organization," he wrote.
World leaders slam Iranian statements
Ahmadinejad's words have spurred a wave of harsh condemnation worldwide.
White House Spokesman Scott McClellan said Washington took Iran's statement seriously."It underscores the concerns we have about Iran's nuclear intentions," he told reporters.
Spain's Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos summoned Iran's ambassador to protest the comments.
The minister said in a statement he rejected the remarks in the strongest possible terms and added he had called for an urgent meeting with Iran's ambassador in Madrid.
France's Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy said he has invited the Iranian ambassador in his country for talks following the Iranian president's statements.
"If the reports are true, this is unfathomable. I completely condemn the statements," said Douste-Blazy.
Britain's Foreign Office said Wednesday it planned to protest "Sickening" Comments made by the
president of Iran calling for Israel to be "wiped off the map."
A British Foreign Office spokesman, who spoke on condition of anonymity in line with government policy, said the deadly suicide bombing which killed at least five people in
Israel Wednesday illustrated the "horrible reality" of the violence being praised by Ahmadinejad.
Canada strongly condemned Iran's president.
"This is the 21st century. We cannot tolerate comments of such hatred, such anti-Semitism, such intolerance," Foreign Minister Pierre Pettigrew told reporters.
'Iran – a clear and present danger'
Iran represents a clear and present danger to Israel, Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom said during a press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov Wednesday.
"It is obvious that the country is trying to stall for time in order to develop nuclear weapons," he said.
"We believe that Russia and the international community should do whatever is in their powers to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear capabilities. A nuclear Iran will constitute a nightmare not only for Israel, but for Russia and the international community as well. Therefore Iran's case must be brought in front of the Security Council," Shalom said.
Lavrov stated that Russia has always maintained that Iran should be banned from having a nuclear bomb. "This is our firm standpoint on the matter, and we have often conveyed it to Iran in negotiations with the country," Lavrov said.
Sources in Israel have defined Iran's nuclear armament policy "a strategic risk," and said they fear that soon the country will reach a point of no return after which it will be capable of developing nuclear arms independently, without foreign assistance. This will free Iran of international monitoring and supervision.
"Reality is what it is, not what you want it to be."

"A point of no return..." that really stuck out. Sounds like the beginning of the third (or fourth?) crusade. Hmm, tip of the iceberg.

1 or 2 inflamatory statements released by Israel over the years...
1. "There is a huge gap between us (Jews) and our enemies *not just in ability but in morality, culture, sanctity of life, and conscience. They are our neighbors here, but it seems as if at a distance of a few hundred meters away, there are people who do not belong to our continent, to our world, but actually belong to a different galaxy." Israeli president Moshe Katsav. The Jerusalem Post, May 10, 2001
2. "The Palestinians are like crocodiles, the more you give them meat, they want more".... Ehud Barak, Prime Minister of Israel at the time - August 28, 2000. Reported in the Jerusalem Post August 30, 2000
3. " [The Palestinians are] beasts walking on two legs." Menahim Begin, speech to the Knesset, quoted in Amnon Kapeliouk, "Begin and the Beasts". New Statesman, 25 June 1982.
4. "The Palestinians" would be crushed like grasshoppers ... heads smashed against the boulders and walls." " Isreali Prime Minister (at the time) in a speech to Jewish settlers New York Times April 1, 1988
5. "When we have settled the land, all the Arabs will be able to do about it will be to scurry around like drugged cockroaches in a bottle." Raphael Eitan, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defence Forces, New York Times, 14 April 1983.
6. "How can we return the occupied territories? There is nobody to return them to." Golda Maier, March 8, 1969.
7. "There was no such thing as Palestinians, they never existed." Golda Maier Israeli Prime Minister June 15, 1969
8. "The thesis that the danger of genocide was hanging over us in June 1967 and that Israel was fighting for its physical existence is only bluff, which was born and developed after the war." Israeli General Matityahu Peled, Ha'aretz, 19 March 1972.
9. David Ben Gurion (the first Israeli Prime Minister): "If I were an Arab leader, I would never sign an agreement with Israel. It is normal; we have taken their country. It is true God promised it to us, but how could that interest them? Our God is not theirs. There has been Anti - Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault ? They see but one thing: we have come and we have stolen their country. Why would they accept that?" Quoted by Nahum Goldmann in Le Paraddoxe Juif (The Jewish Paradox), pp121.
10. Ben Gurion also warned in 1948 : "We must do everything to insure they ( the Palestinians) never do return." Assuring his fellow Zionists that Palestinians will never come back to their homes. "The old will die and the young will forget."
11. "We have to kill all the Palestinians unless they are resigned to live here as slaves." Chairman Heilbrun of the Committee for the Re-election of General Shlomo Lahat, the mayor of Tel Aviv, October 1983.
12. "Every time we do something you tell me America will do this and will do that . . . I want to tell you something very clear: Don't worry about American pressure on Israel. 13. "We declare openly that the Arabs have no right to settle on even one centimeter of Eretz Israel... Force is all they do or ever will understand. We shall use the ultimate force until the Palestinians come crawling to us on all fours." Rafael Eitan, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces - Gad Becker, Yediot Ahronot 13 April 1983, New York Times 14 April 1983.
14. "We must do everything to ensure they [the Palestinian refugees] never do return" David Ben-Gurion, in his diary, 18 July 1948, quoted in Michael Bar Zohar's Ben-Gurion: the Armed Prophet, Prentice-Hall, 1967, p. 157.
15. "We should prepare to go over to the offensive. Our aim is to smash Lebanon, Trans-Jordan, and Syria. The weak point is Lebanon, for the Moslem regime is artificial and easy for us to undermine. We shall establish a Christian state there, and then we will smash the Arab Legion, eliminate Trans-Jordan; Syria will fall to us. We then bomb and move on and take Port Said, Alexandria and Sinai." David Ben-Gurion, May 1948, to the General Staff. From Ben-Gurion, A Biography, by Michael Ben-Zohar, Delacorte, New York 1978.
16. "We must use terror, assassination, intimidation, land confiscation, and the cutting of all social services to rid the Galilee of its Arab population." Israel Koenig, "The Koenig Memorandum"
17. "Jewish villages were built in the place of Arab villages. You do not even know the names of these Arab villages, and I do not blame you because geography books no longer exist. Not only do the books not exist, the Arab villages are not there either. Nahlal arose in the place of Mahlul; Kibbutz Gvat in the place of Jibta; Kibbutz Sarid in the place of Huneifis; and Kefar Yehushua in the place of Tal al-Shuman. There is not a single place built in this country that did not have a former Arab population." Moshe Dayan, address to the Technion, Haifa, reported in Haaretz, April 4, 1969.
18. "We walked outside, Ben-Gurion accompanying us. Allon repeated his question, What is to be done with the Palestinian population?' Ben-Gurion waved his hand in a gesture which said 'Drive them out!'" Yitzhak Rabin, leaked censored version of Rabin memoirs, published in the New York Times, 23 October 1979.
19. Rabin's description of the conquest of Lydda, after the completion of Plan Dalet. "We shall reduce the Arab population to a community of woodcutters and waiters" Uri Lubrani, PM Ben-Gurion's special adviser on Arab Affairs, 1960. From "The Arabs in Israel" by Sabri Jiryas.
20. "There are some who believe that the non-Jewish population, even in a high percentage, within our borders will be more effectively under our surveillance; and there are some who believe the contrary, i.e., that it is easier to carry out surveillance over the activities of a neighbor than over those of a tenant. [I] tend to support the latter view and have an additional argument:...the need to sustain the character of the state which will henceforth be Jewish...with a non-Jewish minority limited to 15 percent. I had already reached this fundamental position as early as 1940 [and] it is entered in my diary." Joseph Weitz, head of the Jewish Agency's Colonization Department. From Israel: an Apartheid State by Uri Davis, p.5.
21. "Everybody has to move, run and grab as many hilltops as they can to enlarge the settlements because everything we take now will stay ours... Everything we don't grab will go to them." 22. "It is the duty of Israeli leaders to explain to public opinion, clearly and courageously, a certain number of facts that are forgotten with time. The first of these is that there is no Zionism, colonialization or Jewish State without the eviction of the Arabs and the expropriation of their lands." Yoram Bar Porath, Yediot Aahronot, of 14 July 1972.
23. "Spirit the penniless population across the frontier by denying it employment... Both the process of expropriation and the removal of the poor must be carried out discreetly and circumspectly." Theodore Herzl, founder of the World Zionist Organization, speaking of the Arabs of Palestine,Complete Diaries, June 12, 1895 entry.
24. "One million Arabs are not worth a Jewish fingernail." -- Rabbi Yaacov Perrin, Feb. 27, 1994 [Source: N.Y. Times, Feb. 28, 1994, p. 1]
25. "We Jews, we are the destroyers and will remain the destroyers. Nothing you can do will meet our demands and needs. We will forever destroy because we want a world of our own." (You Gentiles, by Jewish Author Maurice Samuels, p. 155).
26. "We will have a world government whether you like it or not. The only question is whether that government will be achieved by conquest or consent." (Jewish Banker Paul Warburg, February 17, 1950, as he testified before the U.S. Senate).
27. "We will establish ourselves in Palestine whether you like it or not...You can hasten our arrival or you can equally retard it. It is however better for you to help us so as to avoid our constructive powers being turned into a destructive power which will overthrow the world." (Chaim Weizmann, Published in "Judische Rundschau," No. 4, 192

Y'know, I support and sympathize with the Isreali's, but after all this crap of the past 15 years it makes me wonder if the world would not have been a better place if Hitler had succeeded in wiping out the Jewish race. Not to say I support any form of genocide - but would the Middle East be such a shithole if it hadn't been for the arrival of the displaced Jewish folk looking for their 2000 year old digs?
In the end, these days, we are letting the 'nation' of Isreal dictate the fate of an entire region. Very displaced, like the gap betwen wealthy and poor in the USA. Methinks the first Terrorist Nuke might end up being used on Tel Aviv, whereas I used to think that the USA was the most likely target. For every human problem there is an easy and simple answer. In my opinion if anyone is going to strike first it will be israel, I'm not sure if they would use a nuclear pre emptive strike or just an airstrike on known Iranian facilities. During the 50's and 60's the world faced the prospect of nuclear war with Russia, however that was mostly down to paranoia and confusion but with the current situation there isn't this factor. Iran and Israel do not care if nukes are used, they will attack eachother to the bitter end, not only that once israel has been attacked America and the Uk will step in and attack iran or whats left of it hence inciting china and russia to attack us, welcome to WW3 the war to end all wars.

You seem a bitter man who is, in reality, whining about the poor job Republicans have with their dominant position in US politics since WWII. Perhaps you would be happier in a Fascist State, which America is getting frighteningly close to

Israel is a boil on the bum of the Middle East and irrespective of the biblical rights of Jews, they had no mandate to usurp the UN process in 1948 and steal a country by declaring Statehood before agreement was reached. To then turn out to be a rogue nation like South Africa or Zimbabwe proves Jews learned nothing from WWII other than to be more seperatist, exploitative and cruel.
There are many sane and moderate people on both sides of the argument over Palestinian land rights but it is down to the hardline nutters that no consensus on settlement has been reached.
Iran has a right to be upset with Israel but with Iran's powerful alliances, Israel may cause its own Armagheddon by attacking it. The US isnt up to fronting China, Russia and possibly Europe on Israels behalf.
Iran is confronting US dollar hegemony by starting a Euro based oil market soon, so this will force the US to action of some sort or face economic collapse. Maybe the Iranians are more confident than Americans in general would think. The nuclear issue is a blind to the economic issue coming up because Israel has hundreds of nuclear weapons if it ever dare use them. Their public profile round the world is pretty shabby in general already so that would kill their credibility completely.

So true. If they could have just gotten that WWII lesson throught their silly Hebe heads, the world would be so much better off... (Oh! The WWII lesson? Yep. Iran's gonna cause the US economy to collapse and it is gonna really kill Israel's credibility after they obliterate Iran after it nukes Tel Aviv. I'm dissappointed that you would believe all Jews think that way, many do not. To make that kind of statement about them after they have experienced such a horrible thing as genocide, that's pretty harsh. That's also grouping all Jews in a singular category when many would be offended that you would align them with anything resembling zionistic beliefs.
