The Matrix Revolutions (don't read if you haven't seen it)
So what was wrong with the end, Will? I thought it was quite neat. The battle in Zion was incredible, as was the ones with Neo and Smith.

The battles were great...... but the whole thing with the machines giving up.
Have you seen the animatrix?
It informs you of all the background behind the machine and human war.
There was nothing to stop the machines from killing the humans. Neo kills smith but dies in the process, so the machines have a open platter to destroy Zion.
After all the @#&% the machines and humans have gone through, it is not very realistic for them to just stop.
Other than the ending, I liked the movie. Some bloody great fight scenes....

I didn't like the ending much either. I would of prefered all of them being slaughtered

I agree with Dark Ace.
There was nothing to stop the machines from destroying Zion. So they should have.

Re: The Matrix Revolutions (don't read if you haven't seen i
It's not a matter of destruction. It's all about being realistic.
After all the effort the machines have gone through to destroy Zion, they finally have it handed to them on a platter. And yet they stop. There is no reason for them to do so.
It was a crappy ending.

Re: The Matrix Revolutions (don't read if you haven't seen i
To be realistic, the machine would have stayed outside and lobbed nukes in, but that wouldn't have been much fun would it? You can't complain a film about false reality is unrealistic...

Re: The Matrix Revolutions (don't read if you haven't seen i
There was nothing to stop the machines. Once Neo and Smith died they just left. They could have just as easily destroyed Zion with very little resistance.
These are machines. They aren't just going to stop because they feel sorry for the humans.
That's why I didn't like the ending.

Why can't machines feel pity? There's that Indian family at the start.

Because they don't have emotions.
The indians were programs. It was part of their programming. I am talking about the sentinels and the core.
Anyway, the machines and humans have been fighting for many many years. A war like that does not just stop and no hard feelings.

Who knows? I liked it so I don't care :p
What's your theory on how Neo accessed the computers when outside the matrix? I reckon the holes they plug into also offer a kind of wireless connection to the mainframe that only Neo found.

Re: The Matrix Revolutions (don't read if you haven't seen i
It was to do with Neo been part of the core. He was connected with the machines. And hence connected with the matrix.
I saw a few film reviews of the movie. They said it was crap. I liked the movie. It was just the ending that pissed me off.

I don't think it ever says Neo is more than an ordinary human who learns to reject the Matrix.

It is something you have to sit down and really think about. Probably even see the movie again.

NEo and the Mainframe
I finally got to watch this the other night.
I got the impression that it was the computer entering Neo's body after Smith took HIS body over that actually saves the day, not Neo.
Did anyone else find this?
Then I thought maybe Neo crossed over into the computer - becoming part of the computer - and they defeated Smith together.
Therefore the computer could not re-launch the attack on Zion becuase it was no longer in complete charge of itself!!!!
Any thoughts?Behave yourself on this forum or I'll have to teach you a lesson with my golden lariat!

I'm pretty sure the computer kills Neo after Smith has taken him over. Killing him in the real world kills him in the matrix, as it explains in the first film.
You even get a cross of light on him as he dies to save mankind. And people laughed when I said the first one was about Jesus...

Therefore it is the computer that saves itself. Neo was just the vessel the computer used to gain access to Smith.
Kinda makes 'The One' redundant - although by this point Neo is seemingly dead anyway.
I wonder what the outcome would have been if Smith hadn't have been a factor at the end? (I know that is a move ~lol~). Could Neo have been successful?
I was disppointed in the ending, btw.Behave yourself on this forum or I'll have to teach you a lesson with my golden lariat!

What was the point of stopping Smith anyway? They say in the movie that he'll spread or some crap, but how the hell is he suppose to spread and be a threat to the machines in the real world? Couldn't they have just formatted the Matrix or something thus killing Smith without Neo's help?
-

in theory..... yes they could have.
Even though smith can enter the real world, he would be no threat to the machines.
Neo and Smith are exact opposites. When the opposites combined, they cancelled eachother out.~Evil Will~
I'm not evil, just morally challenged.

Aaargh NO NO NO! I've heard so many people say that Smith and Neo cancel each other out. They don't. Smith takes over Neo in the Matrix; Smith becomes Neo. Then the machine kills Neo in the real world, killing Smith in the matrix. The machine doesn't take him over, it just kills him.
Smith can enter the machine world, he could take the train. He's a virus that infected the matrix, and could do the same to the computer programs in the real world.
In the Matrix, the machines can only delete programs through their agents. But Smith could defeat these, so he couldn't be stopped by the machines.

cleansing
i can't help but seeing the end to revolutions as meaning white/power, cleansing and purity by the light, and sun worship...
to me, going out of that movie with a picture of the sun in my face was the absolute WORST thing i could have wanted for the "conclusion".

Again I ask, why couldn't they just format the Matrix and destroy Smith that way? Yeah it'd make the movie pointless without the big ending fight scene but I would of enjoyed it more. Imagine when Neo is talking to the machine thing and when it agrees it says something like "psyche" and tears Neo apart. Then we see a final showdown between the humans and machines and watch them fight to the death. Que dramatic music as we see the main humans characters fight but eventually die scene.
Maybe before that scene we can be shown one with Seraph and the french guy and his minions trying to battle the Smiths.
I'd rather of seen something like that for an ending then the ****ty one that we were shown :b
Btw Prez you need to take it easy man:cool2: Always trying to look for some kind of conspiracy connections in almost everything is going to eventually make you break down or something:rolleyes: Chill and enjoy life man
