Why is the US the only country with no Optic internet structure?
I was watching a special on PBS about ouer fav thing "Net neutrality" and while I knew about the Optic connection thing I never mentioned it on here.
They were saying how we have things like 56k, then DSL even up to a T1 and pay high prices but for the same prices in most any country (China for example) the get 100MB Optic connections! They said we were promised it back in 92 by phone companies but it never fell through.
I always wondered what happened to optic connections. Because I always see people from other palces talk about it and I could never figure out why it was never an option here.
Not to mention now with the whole "Net Neutrailty" thing I doubt we'll ever see Optic connections. At least not until the net gets restored back (once NN gets removed).

a higher and faster rate of information to the population of a country destined to be taken over by a tyrannical regime is not the wisest of options. keep the people dumbed down and behind in the grand scheme of things... it blows the whole plan when people begin to understand it.
if i offend you, you are part of the fucking problem.

Ugh, I got crappy DSL. I get 1.5MB downloads and like 300KB uploads...not that I care about upload speed.
So today I went for a better package for $4 more and got 3MB downloads! :fake happy smile inserted here: The guy on the phone is giving me a whole thing about how amazing the speed diffrence is and at the end of it I tell him:
"Actually it a whole 1.5mb. Its like a car moving 1mph faster. If you guys would put in Optic lines like you were suppose to this $24.99 wouldn't be here!"
He says nothing for a second and gets kind huffy and says "We would most likley charge more sir."
I say, "You do realize almost every other country has Optic lines and charges half this price for almost 100x the speed."
He goes "I'm sorry we don't offer optic lines right now, we plan on offering them sometime in the future".
Eventually I paid for my MASSIVE 3MB update and hund up. YEAH!!!!! I rock!!!! Stupid AT&T. "....in the future". As in sometime by 2050. lol.
