Armageddon Online is open and free for all to enjoy. Yet, it is not
free for us to supply our services, as much as we wish it were. We must
pay for bandwidth and maintanence to keep this website open and
flourishing.
There are now several ways to help out the site : Donations or by
writing a few articles for us to use as content for our site.
Paypal / Donation:
Donate $10
|
Donate $25
|
Donate an Arbitrary Amount
|
A straight forward donation via paypal is safe and secure, and will
make a great impact on the hosting and maintainence costs for the site!
In recognition of your donation, we are willing to open up certain
resources to donors that no other members will have access to. Those
features we,
primarily within the forums, are as follows:
- For your contribution we would like to offer an official
Armageddon Online email address to you. This will be your
This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
You can access your email from the web
or even use a POP3 email client.
- Access to the AO Arcade, an array of flash-based games. There is
a wide assortment of games from retro games like Asteroids or Tetris,
and a great number of humorous original titles. Users can play games
and compete for trophies and top 10's, or even challenge others to
1-on-1 competitions.
Every time you play a game, you will have the option to submit the
score
to Armageddon Online where they are all saved and recorded.
- A Larger Avatar (the picture under your name). Regular size
avatars are lmited to 75x75 pixels,. Contributors will be able to
upload a custom avatar up to 100x100 pixels in size.
- Can Upload Profile Pictures - Contributors will be allowed to
upload a single 400x400 pixel profile image. It could be a pic of
yourself, or
a larger, alternate avatar. It's your call.
- Can Use Custom Title. Currently we have in place our own
heirarchical title system, but you would notice admins and moderators
have custom titles. Contributors are permitted to come up with their
own custom member title
below their member name and avatar just like the mods and admins and
can
change the title at will.
- Maximum Stored Private Messages: 150 - Max for Apostles is
70
- Can See Deletion Notices - will see a deletion notice in thread
and why. When admins or mods delete a post we have the option of
stating why it was deleted, leaving a small box in the place of the
post announcing
its deletion and a reason why. Normal users don't notice because
there's
no notice there, the posts just continue as if the deleted post was
never
there. Well, as a contributor you're "in the loop" and can see the
reasons
we delete certain posts.
- Can Edit/Delete Own Events on the Calendar - Apostles can add and
view events on the forum calendar, but if you contribute you can go
back and
edit your events and even delete them.
- Can Edit/Delete Own Posts - Regular users can no longer go back
and edit, change, modify, or delete their own posts within the forums.
Contributors are able to do all of them.
- Can See Who Left User Ratings. Users can rate threads after
reading them. As a contributor we allow you to see who actually rated
the thread.
Submit Articles for
Use:
Another way to support us is to write us an article or more for use on
the website.
Each article submitted must be at least 1000 words in length (We won't
actually
count, but we all graduated highschool and know what 1000 words looks
like). Each
and every article submitted must be objective in perspective and take a
neutral position. Armageddon Online is an education and information
site. We will not use
obtuse or opinionated articles under any circumstances. That means no
articles based
on preaching or ranting. Any submitted article used on the site grants
instant Contributor
status. If your article is not use don't fret. Just because we don't
publish
your article does not mean we won't grant Contributor status for the
effort! You can submit an article by clicking here.
We thank all contributions and all considered contributions.
If you have any further questions about what you can do to help us out,
feel free to contact us.
