With this program, you can fetch YouTube videos. NOTE: Not everything on YouTube was shared with permission.

Here's some websites that don't fit into any category above. You can't really download them, they're just useful.

Since it's not possible to read every resource listed, one use is to create an offline homesteader's library with a Google-based search engine. Search for "Google Desktop." It's no longer available from Google but it's still out there on other sites for download. Let it build an index, and your local files are just a quick search away.

You probably will want to get deeper-dive or more modern books on these subjects:

  • Permaculture, to work smarter, not harder (Recommended: Gaia's Garden, Edible Forest Gardens, Designing and Maintaining Your Edible Landscape Naturally, Permaculture: A Designer's Manual)
  • Herbal healing (Recommended: The Medicinal Herb Grower, Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine, The Herbal Medicine-Maker's Handbook)
  • Buildings (Recommended: $50 Underground House)
  • Seed saving, a surprisingly complicated process! (Recommended: Seed to Seed)
  • Companion planting (Recommended: Carrots Love Tomatoes)
  • Medicine (Recommended: Merck Manual Home Edition, PDR for Nonprescription Drugs, Dietary Supplements, and Herbs (check herbal interactions), Medicine for Mountaineering, Medicine for the Outdoors by Auderbach)
  • Butchering animals (Recommended: Basic Butchering of Livestock & Game)
  • Aquaponics (Recommended: Aquaponic Gardening by Sylvia Bernstein)

Of course there's no sense downloading if you're not going to read and practice :-) Print the important stuff in case of power loss/EMP/theft/alien invasion. Here's some free info on how to bind books:
[link to www.aboutbookbinding.com]

And practice, practice, practice. Thieves cannot easily take your skills away.

Do you have any other sites with legally-shared downloads?
